Here is my version of the Gavril Grand Marshall Police Interceptor.

    Whats Included/Modified:

Engine: 5.0L V8. More power than the 4.5, but nothing crazy.

Transmission: 4spd Auto Police Special: I obsessively tweaked this transmission on flat map for every possible condition. It shifts up to cruise when you take it easy, and kicks down a gear when you hit it to keep the engine in the powerband. It really keeps the engine in the right gear all the time. (try switching between it and original to see how much of a difference it makes)
Update 11/08/13: Revised gear ratios for improved real world drivability (Up hills, over bumps and such.

Tires/Suspension: Modified Steel wheels(Stickier Cop Tires),Police Steering(more rotation than sport, but a fair bit less than standard). Also tires and steering should be more durable, but its hard to say if its made a large difference or not.
Update 12/08/13: New Police Front & Rear Brake Upgrades. New Stiffer Police Springs for front and rear with slight ride height increase. New Stiffer Rear Swaybar. Stiffer tire sidewalls.

Setup: It also comes with my preset Police Interceptor setup. Its has all my modded parts together in one package and considerably improves the Grand Marshall's performance & handling.

    Current Version: 1.05 (Updated 12/08/13)
    Download Link: http://www76.zippyshare.com/v/90659834/file.html

Intructions: Just drop the files in the .rar into the Vehicles/Fullsize folder, its that easy ;)

    Thanks:
    Gabester:
for the great original car models in the alpha.
    KalypsoDragon:
his engine mods inspired me to start tweaking things and now I'm addicted ;)

    Todo List:

More Police Gear/Livery: It would be nice to have some lights, and a proper police livery.. But I don't know how to do any of that :p

This is great! Love the 5.0L V8, adds some power, but not too much. Great for a police variant. Thanks a lot for this!

Instead of completely overwriting the original files, you could just rename the jbeam files you edited to:

    interceptor edit2.png

and add "interceptor" to the jbeam files (except the engine jbeam) like:

    interceptor edit.png

then just re-save the .pc file with the added parts in-game.

Otherwise, great little mod you have here.

Ah, that did the trick.. I tried to separate things before, but I only included the specific parts I modded in the renamed file and it kept freezing on loading the car.

Thanks for that, I Updated the files ;)

I just added new Suspension & Brakes.

I wasn't sure if I should make the suspension too stiff compared to the sport springs on account of the increased ride height.. I welcome feedback on the handling.

Will try this out tonight. Police package cars are always fun. Next step. Stiffer tires.

    Derp.

Somehow I deleted it by mistake while editing the post. Its fixed now.

I've been playing around a bit with the PSI and ReinforcementPSI(Sidewall stiffness) as well as the springs.. I wasn't completely satisfied with the vehicles rough road control.. I think the suspension may be too stiff at the moment..

As a Police vehicle it should have good handling over a wide variety of road conditions, and its not easy to find the right balance without feedback, so any feedback on the Handling is greatly appreciated.

I made a ''real life'' police skin for the grand marshall.
Maybe you can use it in your intercepter mod?

That looks pretty cool, I wouldn't mind adding it to the mod. PM me a link and I'll check it out & we can talk some more. :)

Turns out mediafire is a shitty service that limits how many times someone can download my stuff.. That is until I "Verify the Account by Phone"... What they need to verify is beyond me. I'm a guy uploading shit to the internet, whats there to verify?.. just a bunch of bullshit hoops to jump through.
Edit: And guess what, their offices are about to close.. Goodbye shitty mediafire service, hello Zippyshare.. Files will be available shortly.

Very strange.. I can't recreate this bug. What version of the mod are you using? Also check Ctrl+W and see if any parts are missing.

I like the idea, but as constructive criticism, the engine is too peaky and the dampers are way too soft. springs and stuff are great, esp for long suspension, just the dampening is not enough and leads to a lot of bouncing. Keep up the good work though!

Thanks alot, I really appreciate the feedback on the suspension. Its something that's hard to balance because the changes are very subtle so its often hard to determine if the changes made are an improvement or not. (especially with only your own opinion)

When playing with the Damping settings I found that setting it very high lead to more bouncing, but perhaps I set it too soft. I will definitely do some tuning.

Did you do any changes to the settings? If you have any more specific ideas for them feel free to PM them to me and I'll test them.

The Engine is a bit peaky, and I have considered smoothing out the top end a bit.. The other thing I considered was building a custom engine with the Engine Designer from Automation, one of my other favorite alpha Indie games, and using those realistic specs to make the torque/power curve on my engine.
