Yesterday, a Mazda 626 rear ended a Monte carlo in front of my house at I guess 60 Km/h. The mazda got fucked up, and it just bent the monte carlo rear bumper. So today I tried to replicate the accident with the old Pessima and the Moonhawk and I couldnt. http://prntscr.com/9lqqfh It can't believe that the pessima actually destroys the moonhawk's rear. If I hit the D15 the accident looks like the one I'm talking about. http://prntscr.com/9lqrzb So I said, maybe is that the Monte carlo is higher than the Moonhawk, so I removed the front suspension to lift the rear of the car and well... http://prntscr.com/9lqxh1 Still, too much damage to the moonhawk.
I've been doing more test, if you remove the body and put the car in reverse, it does not move, and if you use wind to push it, it catches fire! Somehow the fuel tank gets stuck in the ground. I know the new pessima matches better than the old one in this case, the problem is that the new pessima is sturdier than the old one, and the old one already beats the moonhawk. xD
I still think you're hitting it wrong. In the first image, the front of the pessima hits and goes over the top of the moonhawks bumper, destroying the soft trunk, and leaving little damage to the pessima. For the second one with the truck, the pessima slid under the bumper of the truck, destroying the pessima and leaving little damage to the truck. For the third test, it looks like both cars were hit on the sweet spot. The pessima's body hit right on the bumper of the moonhawk. I think all of your tests are accurate, but you could be forgetting an important aspect of the crash you saw IRL. If the person in the mazda was breaking heavily, then the front end of their car would have been lower, and acted like a wedge, simply sliding under the bumper of the Monte Carlo. The mazda would have been severely damaged, while the Monte would have suffered minor cosmetic damage, exactly like the second pic with the truck.
I slammed the brakes before every crash. What's the name of that sound when the tires block??? (this isn't my native language) xD I've heard that sound half a second before the impact, so I did hit the brakes right before every crash and checked in slow motion that the front of the pessima was lowered. In the third test the body and frame of the moonhawk bent upwards. Lets repeat it, this time with more screenshots. The old pessima rear ending the moonhawk was at 37 Mph. Now to get the D15 standing over its mirror you have to carefully flip it with one of the ramps of gridmap, there isn't an specific speed, just do it as slow as possible.
