So I just found out Gigabyte has a new 'XTREME gaming' GPU lineup, clocked even higher than the G1...
And they look awesome.

Really awesome.

They also have a really stupid name.

 

Is that a GTX 970?

 

I'm kinda sad Linus hasn't broken anything at CES yet. I would've probably died laughing if he dropped the 50'000$ Orpheus headphones.

Just watched the video about that mobo allowing you to OC non-k Intel CPUs. That is pretty awesome.

 

What Mainboard? How is it called and what does it cost? And what F*cking idiot needs $50,000 headphones?

Yup. Watched the video before it was a day old. The reason why I don't use RAID at all.

Back at 4.4Ghz with a bit of voltage fettling I'm happy with the temps.

 

There are 3 PCIe 1x slots in my pc, anyone got an idea why they're there?

 

USB3 card. Raid Card. AC Wifi/Bluetooth Combo Card. Gigabit Ethernet Card. Bam, used 4 of them for you.

980 Ti

 

I was already afraid.
Did you know that Gainward has two different 970s, the Phantom and the Phoenix? The sheets are identical apparently, but they look differently and that's why the Phoenix costs €8 more?

 

There's also a 970 and 980 with that cooler (slightly thinner, since GM204 has a lower TDP).

Are you sure you don't need to raise the fan speed? I'm probably too unconfident, but I like to be on the safe side.

 

I can get my 750 to 350 MHZ without rasing the fan speed or voltage (well it doesnt have thta, and it also is a completely different GPU, but the principal is the same pretty much) and a higher-end GPU should be able to do that as well. Then again, I know literally nothing about OC'ing.

 

Good to know. Have never OC'd my graphics card, so....
