Linked my PC build guide thread in the original post. Not that anyone ever reads it, but hey, better than nothing. Maybe if that thread stops being dead I'll stop forgetting to link it when people ask about builds.
G7 Power Extreme? I had one of those... A 680W one. It tried to kill my ASUS P8H61-M LE/USB3. Something on the MoBo has blown, but it still works. I can't trust the board any more, so it sits unused.
I've seen cheap power supplies kill keyboards and mice over volting the 5v rail, they just don't crowbar in time, hell some don't even have protection circuitry.
When we took it back to the store we got it from, they used a PSU tester on it and said there was something wrong with one of the rails. I don't remember which one it was though. This was years ago. They didn't give a refund or anything though... I'm currently using an Antec High Current Gamer 520W power supply. No more cheapo power supply brands for me.
Am I the only one who orients on what bad Amazon ratings say when not knowing which of two available items he should buy (as long as the ratings are reasonable)?
I just bought a Creative Sound Blaster Z sound card and... Money so well spent. I've never heard Bose headphones sound so good before.
Those things are great. But you know, I'll stick with my old Sonys. They are enough, and they did in fact once cost twice as much. Still a joke in comparison to yours.
Yay, shiny new case. Put my motherboard in it with my mad photoshop skillz because it still isn't here yet. :/
Nothing to worry about as long as it still works, just get a replacement fan, slap it in their and you're good to go again!
Bloody hope so It does still work but it is now giving an error message on start up that the fan is knackered thank god it didn't brick.
Thought I'd fill all the fan slots in my case *7* with 6 of these arctic cooling silent fans and 1 140mm fan that came with the case and got a nice fan splitter while I was at it.
My fan is fine now! It turned out a bit of plastic was blocking it from when I dropped it a while back .
Yeah, those F12 PWMs are really nice. AND really silent. Although I have no idea why you would need six of them. Three or four should easily be enough. @Royal_Stig Why the hell did you drop your computer? Did you never hear the sentence "Watch out, Goddammit!" ?
