So since you can change the sprocket things on the wheels to pick different ones, I want to know how to edit the Horsepower to make like 1000 or something to like remake the farm truck on street outlaws or something. If anyone knows, Please answer.
    Thanks

    there's a wiki you know
    http://wiki.beamng.com/How_To_Edit_Vehicle_Files

it's a bit dated, but do as it says except pull the files (hatch_engine.jbeam, etc) out of the content zips, and put them in mods\unpacked\hatch (create the folder if it doesn't exist)

I mean like which file am i suppost to open to edit? "
    • To begin, I recommend putting the game in windowed mode so you can easily switch between notepad (text editor) and the game. This way after making a change in notepad, you can reset your vehicle (Ctrl + R), and instantly experience your change.
    • SAVE AND BACK UP YOUR ORIGINAL FILES
    • Modifying even one small line of code or number can change the entire feel of the vehicle, for better or worse. A large part of customizing your car will be trial and error, so learn as you go and understand what everything does. Of course, if you have a background in real-world automotive mechanics or technology you already have a big advantage.
    • The very first thing I do to any vehicle, is open up the file named after the vehicle (not the model), and one of the first lines you will see is " "dragCoef":8," I always set this to 0. It makes top speed much easier to obtain." It doesnt really say which file to open

the engine jbeam (like hatch_engine.jbeam) of the car you want to modify; find it in the zips in beamng's install folder in the "content" folder, extract it and put in "mods\unpacked\<the vehicle name>" (create the folder if it doesn't exist)

I think you need to sleep, take your time and experiment. Take a look around the official vehicles' files and try some things. I can't walk you through the entire process, you'll have to figure some things out yourself

    - the pickup shares its engine with the roamer, and thus it is in common.zip > pickup

Probably, but looked in both pickup and roamer, no engine jbeams.

You ignored his post then. Its in common.zip>pickup because its shared between the roamer and pickup (common.zip is loaded for all vehicles and so the pickup and roamer engines are in there)

I have no clue where you are talking about. I have checked the roamer AND the pickup folders, and there is no engine jbeam

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\BeamNG.drive\content\vehicles\common.zip\vehicles\common\pickup

This is where the I6 and V8 jbeams are located.

Ohhhhh now it makes sence. I was going straight to the pickup file instead of common and was getting confused. Now back to the wiki to figure out how to add hp. Thanks!

There should be an app for changing engine/transmission parameters.
