Yep... I was so scared when it first happened to me when I was young. Never had any recently.

Pretty sure I just had one last night, sort of "woke up" feeling something wasn't right/ definitely off. I usually sleep with the door to my room closed, but last night, even though I was sleeping on my side, facing away from the door, I could somehow "sense" that it was open, and there was someone/something standing there, needless to say I was scared shitless since I couldn't move, woke up for real this time, only to find myself sleeping on the opposite side facing "towards" the door which even freaked me out more since I don't sleep on my left side as much.

That is the exact thing that happened too me! I was young when it happened and I was afraid to ever sleep again. The human body is weird... can't even trust myself anymore :p

I think BeamNG stopped using my GPU. According to GPU Z, 10% of my GPU are being used by it :| Guess I gotta play the game at lowest settings at 480p till it gets fixed :| (that's what settings I have to set to get 60FPS on gridmap)

    --edit--
Rendering a 220K frame, 1hour version of a Darude Sandstorm Midi now :p The file will be 105GB, meaning that it'll take an hour to write, and about 8 years to upload. Yay!

Ah, so there's the explanation why I got banned for bumping topics with no contribution when I was actually complimenting the author of a mod.

Evolution of the Rigs of Rods Empire (2005 - present):

The Dark Ages: Rigs of Rods is a blog run by Pricorde. A few people read it and comment on it.

The Prehistoric Age: Pricorde sets up a minimal implementation of SMF and uses it as a forum for the game following the public release.

The Ancient Age: Thomas comes aboard and begins contributing to development. The game achieves some minor popularity among other groups (e.g. Sourcefourge)

The Early-Middle Age: Kitteh (Gabester) comes aboard. He makes a few relatively mediocre vehicles, but is recognized by the community as somebody with a lot of potential. “Isaac.Eiland-Hall” (more than likely the same person involved in this) is a truly awful moderator and is thus dealt with.

The Late-Middle Age: Kitteh makes some truly incredible cars, taking the forum completely by storm. Nothing but these vehicles are seen in Random Screens for weeks. Pricorde leaves the team.

The Golden Age: SMF switches to vBulletin. Most receive it positively, and (aside from a few complications in data transfer) the transition goes smoothly. Kitteh (now Gabester) continues to make incredible vehicles. This stage lasts a couple of years.

The Post-Classical Age: BeamNG is announced, explaining the recent lull of content production from the most well-respected devs (Gabester, LJFHutch, tdev). There is fear regarding the future of Rigs of Rods, but it is promised that all of the former devs will remain on the team.

The Early-Modern Age: Gabester releases his unreleased vehicles. At first, this triggers widespread acclaim, but it later decreases morale. All of the previous team is nowhere to be found.

The Late-Modern Age: Despite people’s best efforts, creators and members alike are leaving in droves. Content production has decreased exponentially. Levels of shits given has reached an all-time low.

The Anarchist Age: With no governing body, the forum degrades into what can only reasonably be described as anarchy. Many are punished while others are not. There is widespread abuse of power among invited members. The future of the game is frequently brought into question.

The Early-Postmodern Age: A forum thread bands several members into widespread action. Tdev is summoned from the depths, and Jeepster is put into power. A new development team is appointed. The future looks comparatively bright.

The Late-Postmodern Age: In spite of the recent turnover, over 75% of the forum’s active members have left. While some are satisfied with Jeepster’s leadership, a vocal minority are not.

The Present: Nearly all that remain approve of Jeepster’s leadership, leading to many widespread pitchforking incidents. The forum is no longer based around the game- it is now entirely a facet of its community. Many of the game-based forum categories are completely inactive, and the posting rate is lower than ever before. Several attempts to revitalize the game are made; none are successful. The number of active users is below 1,000.

    The Future
: Rigs of Rods is destined to continue on its current path, wherein the small community of active users on the forum (and the even smaller community of those who still play the game) will disperse. Jeepster will be left as the only remaining user, and the forums will be archived.

Thus is the transformation of a once great game into what can only reasonably be described as one giant toilet with a staph infection.

Rigs of rods was great. It's over now, BeamNG is the new thing. Think of how much better Beam is than RoR. Now, if things keep going this way, imagine what will come out in 2023..

You forgot the giant influx of the School Bus Noobs. That seemed to be the beginning of the down fall.

I joined between the late and early middle ages which was April 2009 I believe... I was like 12 or 13. I made another account in April 2010. I still remember Gabester teasing the Gavril's like the Omega, Bandit and the Accord and 1949 Ford.

I also remember the old forum of which I spent to much time reading and not doing home work... I joined these forums as soon as the thread announcing the launching of these forums was posted. I haven't logged in there since February 2014. Pretty much all the content makers left. Not that I really cared, I was just modifying the old stuff anyways. I haven't played Rigs of Rods since August 2014 and probably late 2013 before that. Once BeamNG came out I pretty much didn't see a point in making mods for an obsolete game.

The only people left on the ror forums are Jeepster dickriders. I log in like once a every 2 weeks to check like 2 threads. I rarely post.

I joined sometime in 2012, made like 50 posts, and moved on to Beam forums.

Above is when I was active. I've recently tried getting back into it for old time's sake, but I never could. I wish that the new development team put as much of their heart and sole into it as Pricorde and Tdev did. What a shame.

Gabe's S-10 still remains my all time favorite vehicle every released for that game.

Three times. First time I saw one of my close friends sitting on my bed, staring at a wall, widemouthed. Started calling his name, then looked at the wall, then back to where he was, but he was gone.
Second time I saw something floating around my room.
Third time I woke up to see my blanket just started growing uncontrollably :p

When I first played Rigs of Rods, it was great. Unfortanetly, the community went to crap, and then BeamNG came along.

And at some point, some nasty people started ruining the forums with sexual content. I remembered one of those users were called xxx.epic.xxx or something like that.

The community went so bad that I don't even want to talk about RoR anymore.
