My first two RRoDed but the third one has been chugging along ever since then. The disc drive is a bit noisy but nothing too terrible. Haven't really used it much since my Live ran out and I started to use my PC a lot more.
I've had the RRoD, switch the thing off immediately and its fine... Assuming you run the console in the horizontal position in which case the solder balls that commonly melt and are associated with the red ring can settle into the correct location and will solidify in the correct position (a self reflowing CPU \o/). If you let your console run upright, the melted solder runs and the thing dies.
I am not sure really....I would troll the lot of you and say the PC but to be honest all consoles have their strengths and weaknesses, I would have to say the Magnavox Odyssey
I only have two consoles, Amiga CD32 and Wii U. That's all I'll ever need. Oh, and I got myself a PS2 last year but I don't consider it 'mine' because I bought it only for two games which I couldn't play on PC - GTA Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories. As soon as I finish them I'll get rid of the console.
We got a white non-E one which RRoDed on its first session playing TDU. Then we got a black 250GB non-E because the white one had no warranty and that black 360 has served my dad and I well. No problems at all. OT: The Xbox 360. The original Xbox was my first console and I have played Burnout 3: Takedown on a PS2 (very good), but the 360 is the workhorse of the pwner and is awesome.
Ps3. It has good graphics and has good games and just looks good from the outside. --- Post updated --- Xbox 360 is also good.
