Dragging the thread back onto topic here...

Will the Burnside have cross-ply, or radial tires? I ask because radials were somewhat new in 1953 (not to mention the fact that cross-plys, being cheaper, would likely come equipped by the factory), and I think it'd be cool to see how cross-plys would work in beamng. I have never personally used cross-pls, but I've heard that they were significantly weaker and prone to instability issues at higher speeds.

I Think It would have cross-plys or bias-plys as we call then here. because you didn't really see them on american cars untill about 1965 as an option. Then in 1970 the Lincoln Continental had radials as the only option. By 1975 almost every car you saw had radials. Bias ply tires worked fine on cars up untill the cars got heavier and went faster.

From a engine design perspective, I think the '53 Special should have an engine that is realistic to the time period, which could the following:
    1. OHV L-head V8 with cast iron block and twin-barrel fuel injection.
    2. Straight-6 with cast iron block and carbureted fuel injection.
    3. T-head V8 with cast iron block and twin-barrel injection.

For those who are wondering what a T-Head engine is, it's a type of flathead engine with valves on both sides of the cylinder. Here's a basic representation of one.

Judging by "carbureted fuel injection" I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he probably just meant normal flathead engines. I do think that on a base model a flathead 6 wouldn't seem out of place.

by 53 ford already had a ohv mileage maker sixbanger, and gabe always said that Gavril was ahead of its time over GM and Ford, so i'd expect it to all be ohv engines.

I agree with what you're saying, Atomix. But having just one engine option available to the '53 Special isn't quite right. I think there should be these engine options available to the Special.

    ENGINE #1:
    L-head V8, cast iron block
    100 hp @ 3600 RPM
Holley two-barrel Model AA-1 (induction system)
    239 cid displacement
    6.8:1 compression ratio
    3-speed automatic / 4-speed manual (transmission options)

    ENGINE #2:
    L-head six-cylinder, cast iron block
    95 hp @ 3300 RPM
    Holley one-barrel Model 847F5
    226 cid displacement
    6.8:1 compression ratio
    3-speed automatic / 4-speed manual

    ENGINE #3:
    Straight-eight cylinder, cast iron block
    120 hp @ 3600 RPM
    Four-barrel carburetor
    263.3 cid displacement
    6.1:1 compression ratio
    3-speed automatic / 4-speed manual

    ENGINE #4:
Overhead valve V8, cast iron block
    160 hp @ 3900 RPM
    Four-barrel carburetor
    317.5 cid displacement
    7.5:1 compression ratio
    3-speed Hydra-Matic automatic

The above 4 engine options are all from the 1950s, so they are suitable for the '53 Special's model year.

I would love to see this in the next update. I am a classic car buff and seeing how this would handle and crash would be Christmas to me...also, that other car I saw in the above posts that looks like a cheap French car. I WOULD KILL IF THERE WAS A DOUBLE RELEASE. Imagine it: 2 cars in the next update...oh man, I would cry tears of joy.

This car and the Barstow are going to come out at the perfect time, since I'll hopefully be getting a G27 sometime next week ;P

Thanks, I just saw it on the wiki lol.

Couldnt gabe just port over the old 53 Ford Coupe he made for RoR? I dont know if he is reusing the same resources from it or not...but that might cut down the time til its release....then again I have no idea how long it takes to make a proper car in this game.

Gabe doesn't want his old RoR cars in BeamNG, as he considers them low quality, compared to his new ones.

Really? I thought his RoR cars were on the same level as these.
