____________________________________________________________________________________________________ This is a small spaceship thing that I decided to make out of boredom. I wanted to make it so that it can actually fly with the help of thrusters, but the game didn't wanna do what I wanted it to do. For now there's only 2 thrusters, one for going forwards (T) and one for going backwards (G). It has a tendency to fall over about 10 seconds after spawning it, so make sure you (try to) take off fast! ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Q and A: Q: Why is this a WIP Beta Released thread if it's already done? A: Well, it isn't really done. Like I said, there's an issue with thrusters which seems to be unfixable for me. Q: Why did you decide to release this? A: Because I wanted to get some feedback for it. Aure, I could've released it in my beta group, but I feel like releasing it to the public will get me more feedback ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Oh right, forgot. My pc decided to die so this render will have to do. http://www.beamng.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=74583&d=1441729026
Not to be overly negative, and good on you for getting into modeling and JBeaming, but 32 vertices does not a spaceship make. Just saying, it might be better to keep your first few experiments with modeling and JBeaming private until you become more proficient.
It looks like a futuristic spaceship to me, though I guess it's not that easy to see that if you don't have a lot of fantasy.
Honestly not sure why you decided to release this. You want feedback? Try spending more than 30 minutes on a project. Put some effort into what you do. Nobody wants stuff like this.
This was actually quite hard work for me, since this was the first time I actually put effort and time into something. While I know that most people don't like pointless stuff like this, I also know that there always will be people who like this kind of stuff. Knowing that there will always be atleast one person who likes what I do is what motivates me to make stuff like this. I feel like that is also the only reason I chose to release this.
No one should be inappropriately shamed for creating anything in my opinion. I'm learning Blender and was quite happy to get a 10 minute jersey barrier into game. I like geometry, angles and shapes so I see the possibilities of your spaceship. I had quite the bizarre piece of alien machinery modeled that I'm certain no one would have seen as worthwhile but I saw it as it was. I think what people are saying here is creations like this should be tested via a private (or PM) environment and if publicly released, at least have an interesting texture etc. Like it or not, there is an unspoken standard that released mods should have and the heat will be applied if not....just the way it is. I don't think anyone is trashing your creation but rather would like to see your spaceship a bit more interesting with some personal flair put into it. Just my two cents. I say modify that spaceship some more, give it some heft and roundness, make it unique!
Watched a few tutorials on texturing so I might be able to make it textured and change the model a bit tomorrow.
It's a pretty cool concept, I can see this becoming something pretty cool. Maybe add upward thrusters or something so it flies better. By the way, are the wing thingies supposed to bend under pressure?
