From atomix, atomix, a little bit of atomix and then just a hint of me yet I somehow end up being the guy that releases it.

    We present, the Ibishu Dove.

To put a long story short (and maybe I'll edit the long story in). This kinda stemmed from atomix sticking a gavril H series fascia onto a D series. From there, things spiralled a tad.
This is essentially our take on what a budget orientated D series for non US markets would have been like. It is purely non canon (and we did consult the legendary gabe), but it has been badged as an Ibishu much in the same way as the ford/mazda partnerships were.

Differences from a stock D series:
    • No ABS
    • 2.2l i4 engine, optional supercharger in higher trim (aftermarket turbo included for the offroader and just for the insanity - superturbo too). Versus a v8, horrendously underpowered, but still lugs a trailered covet up JRI.
    • Wheels have been replaced by ibishu models (enlarged 6 lug pigeon steelies, think the alloys are enlarged pessima, suit nicely I think).
    • Ibishu badges on hood and tailgate.
    • Trim badges on fenders.
    • Right hand drive.

All in all, not a whole lot to say.

Installation wise, place the pickup folder from the downloaded zip into documents/BeamNG/mods/vehicles, seem to get materials errors if left zipped and I have no idea why that is, the error doesnt exist in older game versions...

I have not tested for compatibility with any mod except the roamer facelift D series also by Atomix. If using the roamer facelift mod, use the materials file from *this* mod to overwrite the other one, I have included the modified roamer materials in this mod to prevent conflict.

12-09-2015: Fixed dashboard decals, added a RHD version of the stock D series transmission for use with the v8, removed the parallax propeller manual that I managed to lose when I downloaded it a month or so ago (turns out, you guys had it, thieves ;)).

Permission *is not* granted for reupload

what would be cool if there was something more realistic in size to the Mazda B series since the dove will seem massive to people in japan and it probably wouldn't pass government regulations.

Cheers, was actually wondering where I saved that to. I'll remove it if the download ever changes, until then, have a manual for a pretty cool chip.

The liberty walk sunburst thread appears to have a shrunken D series in it. And yes your point is pretty valid, while it likely *would* pass regulations as there are several genuine trucks of this size, pickups this size generally dont exist outside of north america, the largest japan has is a midsize rather than fullsize, but the game does not include a midsize or compact truck, only a fullsize and a kei truck.

    To Atomix and SixSixSevenSeven,

This is a really badass mod, so the Ibishu Dove has been sold in Japan only? I thought the smaller than usual engine would make it acceptable in countries with strict emission regulations. I hope you do more facelifted vehicles in the future, I would love seeing the Covet with a newer front end sometime...

I found that putting the .zip file in BeamNG/Mods/Vehicles/Pickup and extracting files and copying the files and putting in the pickup folder outside the Dove folder works. I got no materials problems when I did it.

While not what you have asked for, atomix has the odd covet project lying around. Which will be released, which will not, thats another matter.

I'd say it could hypothetically be anywhere non USDM, but even so, the point about fullsize trucks would still stand as fullsize pickups really dont exist outside of the USDM. Europe would typically just be midsize or smaller, asia, midsize or smaller, AU/NZ, Midsize or smaller.
This particular one, either australia/NZ, Japan or UK due to RHD, maybe even south africa.

You have a point, I'll take the VW Golf Country like Covet over a facelifted one anyway.

I don't think that's supposed to be there.
    Other than that, great mod!

It kind of reminds me of the Chevrolet LUV/Isuzu Faster and the Chevrolet S10/Isuzu Hombre joint vehicle lines. So I wouldn't call it too unrealistic?
    Hombre/S10

if anything these would be very likely to be sold in South America, Australia/NZ or certain African countries, Japan wouldn't be that likely. But think about how Isuzu (Which is Japanese) often sell low budget trucks in those areas.

So as you can see, it's not that far fetched.

True, these actually grew substantially larger in the 2000s and 2010s, but in the 90s and 80s they were pretty small.

if you guys felt like making another car that fits more within the JDM spec for fun, what you could do is make a hatchback based pickup, those are relatively more common in Europe, South America, and Japan, I believe. Something like a covet, two doors, extended wheelbase.

    Euro examples:

Nearly picked one of these up for £250. Then my insurer said no.
