I might buy two Corsair SP120 PWM fans for my CPU cooler. Then I can move my 212's stock fan to the bottom of my case and improve GPU airflow as well.
So it would incrase my fps a bit, but not as much as a 970, which, does make sense, I mean after all it's a more power full gpu. I guess I'll go for the 750ti if I cant get the 970. One more question: would the 750ti be able to run on my current 350W psu?
Wish the AF120's came in a PWM variant... I like true speed control rather than the hacky voltage adjustment, get a wider range of possible speeds on PWM and right now my AF120 intake is a tad loud when I'm sat here just web browsing.
You now have the 950 at the same price and performs way better (The original price of the 750 TI was 150$, now it is ~120$). http://www.techspot.com/review/1049-nvidia-geforce-gtx-950/ Saying 350W PSU basically says nothing, a 700W Apevia PSU is not the same as a 550W Antec EDGE for example. To give you an idea, a complete "standard" PC with a 970 wont take more than 300W from your PSU. What happens here is that most of those PSU cant handle that load, even half of what they are supposed to. But the question is, Can it run a 750 TI?, yes, even the most shitty PSU can, a 750 TI just needs 70W, it even takes power from the PCI-E itself. now can it run a 950? probably yes, but either a 750 TI or 950, you have a time bomb in your PC. You should invest a bit on a PSU.
I have two AF140 intakes (450D stock fans), they aren't quiet. I can't hear them with headphones on though, so it's not a problem. You could replace it for an SP high performance edition, airflow is actually nearly as good as the AF's so there's no reason not to go for SP's.
I have set up one of my Raspberry Pi's as a headless web server. I'd like some ideas of what to do with it next.
Its some shitty chinese brand. I want to get a 600W corsair one, but just wanted to ask if a 750ti would run on the current psu, just in case I dont get as much money as i would need for what I want.
Need help or advice what should i better get... Need to build new PC, because my gtx 580 broke down, and PC is 5 yrs old, so i decided to build a fully fresh one. i have a 1300$ limited budget, so this what i decided to get for now: Motherboard: MSI 970 Gaming (MSI Z97 Gaming, if Intel) Processor: AMD FX-8350 (I always use AMD, because they cheaper than Intel, i know that Intel is better, but less power, and more expensive... But would be great if someone recommend me some i5-i7 about 200-250$, or other AMD ones) RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3-2133 16384Mb Case: Aerocool Xpredator X1 Power: Aerocool VP-850 850W And that's the point where i got stuck, a videocard... i'm a huge fan of Nvidia, and i always use their cards, i decided to get MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4gb, but then i heard about Radeon R9 390, i found one in my local online store, MSI Radeon R9 390X 8gb! The same price as GTX 970, twice more video memory, and with 512 bits of memory bit rate (256 bits in 970), and i got really confused, i used to be a Radeon hater (lol) but i see that at this time its a quite good choice... Nvidia is always providing new drivers, and lots of optimization almost for every game, i dont know how the Radeon does... Also i'm an interior designer, i work in 3ds max with Nvidia mental ray render, so i dont know how the Radeon will work with this...
don't know why i was expecting anything less from comcast (both literally and figuratively) but 2 gigabit service is now available where i live and it costs $300 a month pretty much gosh darnit, was looking forward to having my electronic devices be a bottleneck for my internet
Why RAM at 2133 Mhz? Why 850W PSU? "I know Intel is better", the FX 8350 is better than the i5 in many multithreaded apps, the problem is with games, because almost every game depends on single thread performance. If you want a FX, choose the 8320 and save 20$. Both OC equally. The 390x is a great card for higher resolutions and multi screen usage, it is better than the 970 at stock (Now when you OC both things come close) but you lose CUDA. mmm If editing is where you spend most of the time go with the 970, otherwise go with the 390x.
Don't go for the 390x. Use a 390 instead. Or the 970. The 390 and 970 are almost identical performance wise in unoptimized games.
what RAM and PSU is better then, i think i will go with Kingston HyperX FURY DDR3-1866 16384MB PC3-14900, but do i need more powerful psu? not an expert on this 390 is 5$ cheaper than 390x here
RAM speeds basically does not show differences, just those benchmarks that compares your bandwidth and if you use your iGPU. Buy a cheaper one (Just dont pick one with CL11) and then OC it. 850W is way overkill, look at Evga 600B. A PC with a 390x + 8320 wont need more than 450W.
wow, ok then, i can use my old 650W and save some money, thanks p.s. no EVGA hardware in my country, dont know why)
You really should go Intel. Get an i5-4690K, or 6600K. It's got 4 cores as opposed to 8 in an 8320/50, but each of those is twice as powerful clock for clock, in part due to AMD's shared FPUs and cache. You rarely need more than 4 threads, and the single-core performance is worth it. As for the graphics card, it really depends on what you want. If you want a card with good DX11 performance and better DX12 performance, and have a good CPU cooler, go for the 390X. If you want a great DX11 card that won't benefit much in terms of performance from DX12, and doesn't have a massive heat output, go for the 970. Shadowplay is also pretty good if you record video. And if you work with 3ds max, as far as my own experience goes it doesn't like AMD's drivers. Don't use a no brand PSU, especially with something like a 390X. Replace it for a 600W+ from a good brand, at least 80+ bronze.
wow, thanks. I think i will go with 970 same as you have, will stay with nvidia for now. About i5... it cost almost twice like 8320 :\ For the PSU, dont know what brand is good, because not many brands are known here.. how about: be quiet! Pure Power L8-CM - 630W, it has 80+ bronze Here, all brands that i can get (imported from here)
