[FORUM] Can we please get slightly larger (In MB, not pixels) avatars?

I've got an 80x56px avatar that's just over 120kb. While I can for sure work on making it smaller, would a limit like 512kb really be a technical issue? Or is it more you guys just don't want really huge avatars?

 

This place can't even get a grip on the "it looks like" or "STOP BUMPING THREADS ASSHOLE!" circus, might as well
make it a three ringer and add "Poll for my avatar" flamewars.

 

My guess is they don't want large avatars to be hosted on their servers. Trying to keep costs to a minimum.

yes go to Pcars forums.. there are 100s of emoticons.. runs on what appaears to be the same forum structure, just adapted to their needs/want on their forum, also interestingly enough Pcars only supports up to 40 posts a page and BeamNG does 200.

Some improvement too. Why not making the forum more colorful? Adding some more color options like a dark or LSD color theme? I mean C´mon there are 2 color themes??

 

Better than one like most other forums. Also tdev has said before that the team might work on another theme if beamng ever settles down.

 

Just go to Softonic using IE and download anything. You'll get hundreds, if not thousands, of entire TOOLBARS full of emoticons!

 

Honestly, I'd like to see more forums allow up to 150x150 avatars. Computers aren't quite so slow now.

 

Come to Australia with our tiny internet caps, shitty speeds and you try open a thread full of huge 5mb images of dumb cars and hundreds of avatars of anime girls and dumb custom logos.

My connection is good enough connection to load large images and HD video without stuttering. No cap either.

$150 for 500mb a month with 11 down and 0.8 up. Are you in the middle of the desert or something?

There are also vBul forums that have the option to disable custom avatars and signature pics entirely. Maybe we could implement that too?
