Hello! I'm starting this thread because I'd like to chat / discuss with all the content creators out there! here you can show off your tips and tricks with editing, what you do with your channel, etc. This isn't a thread about channels you watch, but your own channel, content creators! Feel free to talk about your channel's history, your channel's story and what your goals of a content creator are, I'll start with mine! My channel started off in 2013 / 2014 (I forgot ) with low quality content where I sounded like a news reporter saying "Hey guys! its whoopiepoopiehd here and I want you all to subscribe and share my video's!" Typical 14 year old me. This channel was created over the failure of my last, "Josh45222" it had a horirble name, horrible content and I was 12. I still use that account to watch people on my iPad, but I'll never upload to it again. After a year of uploading content to my Whoopie channel, I took a break to focus on school, and I rebooted my channel once I ended year 10, uploading 3 video's a week, my channel was starting to grow, and I was really starting to get my name out there, it was growing once I started to play BeamNG (Typically, it was also at this time WhyBeAre started to play BeamNG... if only I stick'ed to BeamNG...) where my channel got a small boost in subscribers. After I was bored of uploading let's plays, I had quit YouTube to focus on school again, but I came back after 6 months of nothing, I rebooted the channel (again) with "Is Grand Theft Auto Too Voilent For Aussie's?" (GTA 5 Stopped selling at target since one mom bought it for her 9 year old son and whined about it being voilent.) I had completly changed the way I looked at video's, I stopped doing unedited lets plays and started to upload content about GTA only, where I posted news about GTA 5 (like xmas DLC and heist's.) but i quickly opt'ed out of that as I saw how toxic the GTA 5 YouTube community was, I couldn't think of any idea's for video's at this point, so I just started to record my self playing games and I put the best part's of the recording into a video. I never thought about recording or made a big deal about it when I was, I never tell my friends when I'm recording a gme session because they'd spazz out and go "omg I'm going to be on YouTube" and try to act funny so they can be on YouTube, I hate that, so I don't say a word to try and get the best reaction's from people, they've adopoted this and don't really care anymore and act normally. After I started to make funny montages, my channel started to gain in subscribers at the fastest rate I've ever been at. But my channel wouldn't of reached 100 subscribers if it wasn't for the help of some people, you might not of heard of these people before, but a big thanks to ReclaimJoey & Draulxx, they helped me steer my content into the correct direction and if it wasn't for them, I'd still be doing let's plays and my name still would of been "WhoopiePoopieHD" and not "Whippy". Joey is a Twitch Streamer, a bloke I've known for over a year now, creeping onto 2 years, he still streams today, infact, as of the time of typing this, I'm sure he's live on Twitch right now. Draulxx has worked with content creators as he talks to game developers and is a game reviewer and they both help me filp my channel upside down for the good. That's my story right now, also, it seems that your channel goes up in popularity due to the amount of subs you have, when I hit 10 subs, I got my views on my channel, when I hit 50, it went up even more, and as soon as I hit 100, it was almost instantly did my video's gain more popularity and pop up on the search results when you type in "Whippy" on YouTube, and not sitting under pages of random search results, now at the top baby! I'm interested to hear your YouTube story, your tips and tricks with editing, and your goals with your YouTube channel. Sorry for the wall of text and if it seems that I rushed this, it was because I did
My YouTube story starts when I was about 7-8 years old.It was always a dream of mine to be a YouTuber. I remember always watching YouTubers like PewDiePie all the time (I was a very bad boy xD). I always wanted to be like the "big" YouTubers but I was way to shy to even try to start. It went on like this until about December of 2015 when I really looked into free recording software and stuff. I finally decided to download and install the free stuff. Around this time I told my friend about my channel and he asked if he could be my editor. I said yes. We figured we couldn't both be called HockeySnipe16 so we gave each other nicknames. His was Flowseidon and mine was Snipes. I always called my self HockeySnipe16 anyways until about a month into YouTube. I had terrible equipment. I had a turtle beach headset that I got on sale for $40. I had a computer that got 20 FPS MAX of Gmod. And I had way to high of expectations. I started off playing games like Plants Vs. Zombies and other free games. Flowseidon played Fallout 3. He wasn't the best at getting videos to me so I had to learn to edit myself. I would just throw the video into movie maker, add and intro and outro, and then save it and upload it. At this time, I had maybe 8 subs and they were all family and friends. I felt left out in YouTube. I thought that I could never make it. I knew that my videos sucked but no matter how much I tried I couldn't get myself out there. Eventually, Flowseidon quit and I was alone with my channel. I was both sad and glad he left because he turned out to be lazy and too busy with everyday life (I am home schooled and he goes to public school). As soon as he left, my channel started to grow. I got a new PC. I played games like CS:GO, WarFace, Gmod, and Quake Live. I got bored of all of those games and I didn't know what to do next. I ended up taking a lot of brakes from YouTube. 1 week, come back for a day or two and take another brake for a couple days. I had no idea what to do with myself. Finally around 13 subs, I came back and did more videos for good. I was gaining subs (not so much views) like crazy and I was super happy. I reached 25 pretty quick and Flowseidon and I played CS:GO multiplayer (I played it singleplayer because I sucked at it and wanted to feel good about myself). I was very proud that I got to 25 but something wasn't right. I had no views on any videos. I tried everything to get views. I even played Agario! I had no idea what to do. I went on a trip on June 22 for a weekend and when I came back, things changed. I came back and started up Eastside Hockey Manager and it did really well. I got bored of it quickly though and that didn't turn out very good for the series. Then I found it... The BeamNG.Drive Tech Demo. I remember watching Insanegaz a long time ago and wanting to get BeamNG. So, I got the tech demo and made a video saying "Coming Soon!" I begged my parents to let me get it and I finally got it. I started doing commentaries on it like WhyBeAre but I just didn't like it as much as I wanted to. So, I made montages. Ever since the day I made my first montage, I have grown insanely! I got up to 40 subs just recently and now I'm SUPER happy. I know it's not about the subs and stuff but it is always nice to see hard work pay off. That's my YouTube story! Extra crap that you might care to know about my life: How did I get my name It started when I got a social media app (not going to say what sorry). I needed a name so, with a little help from friends, I came up with HockeySnipe16. I used it as my YouTube channel name as well. My goals for my channel? My goals would have to be IMPROVE IMPROVE IMPROVE. I just need to keep working hard and never give up and eventually I will get to the next level. Other random stuff? Nope, I got nothing. Thank you if you read the whole thing! I know it's kind of boring but I may use this story somewhere else some day.
I started in 2012 to make rigs of rods videos, when beamng came out i stoped with ror and started making beamng videos. They had really terrible quality because of my old pc.When i had 500subs then i stoped uploading videos until i bought new parts for my pc.Now am uploading daily videos because am having allot of fun making them. And Later i want to join a network and do some diiferent videos real life videos and mybe some letplays with friends.
My channel started out with a camera phone and a PlayStation 2. I looked at some of the graphics and thought, these games are out of date compared to BeamNG. I then began making BeamNG.drive videos, and a lot of my first ones were rubbish. I am now doing simple vids, and haven't decided whether or not I'll do some for GTA IV.
