Re: Desert Highway UPDATED 2/25, Powerlines! were because of the cannonball run idea in the ideas section, cant wait! but my frack man this is a huge map! thank god i have good download speed took me no more than a minute - - - Updated - - - ok so i put the map in beam and now it is just refusing to launch the game! it is stuck on the steam preparing screen and i just cant get it to go beyond i can close out of it to stop it but it just wont load up! reinstalled the game, now it works
Re: Desert Highway UPDATED 2/25, Powerlines! Already reinstalled? Fair enough Any map wouldn't cause an issue like that unless you put it in a very wrong place
Re: Desert Highway UPDATED 2/25, Powerlines! Check page one or click "view files attached to this thread" at the top right side of the page and it should be in there somewhere.
Re: Desert Highway UPDATED 2/25, Powerlines! Is there any FPS version of this map? My computer is a little bit weak and after that update, game is quite slow.
Re: Desert Highway UPDATED 2/25, Powerlines! Not sure if this was mentioned, but I found a few issues. biggest, is that over the entire map, all vehicles sink slightly into the ground. Also, there are some bushes in the road near the end of the first straight xD
Re: Desert Highway UPDATED 2/25, Powerlines! They don't actually sink, just texture problems and the author is aware of this issue. The bushes...cmon, they aren't a big deal.
Re: Desert Highway UPDATED 2/25, Powerlines! +1, I don't know how to fix the tyres clipping into the decal roads --- just ignore it until mesh roads come about.
Re: Desert Highway UPDATED 2/25, Powerlines! Wow! This terrain is very nice. I like how the road goes out for many miles, and it reminds me of the Mojave Desert in Southern California. I can get 180 mph in my SBR4. - - - Updated - - - Just drove the whole main road from start to when it turns around and the trip odometer said 17 miles. Impressive! It actually takes around 15 minutes to drive the whole road next to spawn in a sports car at an average speed of around ~200 km/h. Then I kept driving on the road but then my car flipped over at 25 miles. I'm going to upload a video of me driving that distance in the SBR4 but it'll take a while to upload.
Thanks for the comments, guys! Proof that this is not a dead thread -- slightly out of date, yes, but fully functional!
Possibly there are appropriate sized signs in the default terrains that I could skin and place in this terrain. I don't have lots of time either, but I could look.
I published unedited footage of me driving 25 miles through this terrain in an SBR4, in 11 minutes! Shows how big this terrain is.
