Hello everyone I'm trying to build a whole new level/track from scratch, it's called *MountainSide* I took 2048m2 and Compressed down to 1024m2 to get a higher ground detail, every kvaderat meter is hand sculpted or are in progress of being at least I will try to keep you updated along the way. Here is a small taste: Progress report #2 Some progress on the map has been made, have sculpted 1/3 of the map and textured 1/4 of it Progress report #3 Almost sculpted all the terrain (I may change some parts later) have textured some more of the map, what is showed in the video is the other side of the map, close to the crater Progress report #5 and the Beta Finally it is here, the beta, not much more to say.. hope it works... Progress report #5B Updated for 0.4.0.5 renamed all internal files, are tested and running from the ZIP file, you can put it directly in the mods folder, or make a leves folder in the mods folder to put it in Installation: put the zip file into: Documents\BeamNG.drive\mods\levels (And if you dont have one of the folders, you have to make it )
Re: *MountainSide* You again ? You make great vids and maps ! It looks like a small JRI . Also , can i have a version with no Grid and all dirt roads ?
Re: *MountainSide* Hey there, and thank you Do you mean the grid texture? i use that to easier see the contour of the terrain im molding, after i have done an area and is happy with it, I texture it with the finale texture maps
Re: *MountainSide* Looking good so far. Remove the "s" from https and insert the video via the video button so we can view it in this thread.
Re: *MountainSide* Hey and thank you No I do not know how I create height maps, so I just press create blank terrain, set it to 2048 x 2048 and set the *SquereSize* to 0.5, it shrinks to half it size but it has twice as much details, and then i just mold it with the terrain tools, lot of work but i get it the way i want
Re: *MountainSide* Oh cool! I totally understand the "handcrafted" way of doing things. Hell of a lot of work but it's very rewarding. You are doing a fine job in my eyes and the detail is very realistic. This map will be a ton of fun!
Re: *MountainSide* Thank you buddy Yes i feel you have more control over things that way, but as you pointed out, it is alot of work But I reward myself occasionally by sending a car off the top of one of the cliffs, sooo rewarding ...
Re: *MountainSide* this is amazing. i kinda wanna try to scratch make a level now. i dont think i have the patience though.
Re: *MountainSide* Wow....the amount of noise in that grid is insane. You could just about match a super detailed texture "rock for rock" on that.
Re: *MountainSide* Hehe yes, but i have no idea how to make texturemaps for this game, so i have to use the ones that is in the game. but the cool thing, because of the noise details, when the car hits the rock side its parts get ripped of and flung sky high
Re: *MountainSide* That water is green. There's either a ton of pollution in it or a lot of algae. that's the story i'm going with.
Re: *MountainSide* Hehehe, i think we go with the algae, and the water is at the bottom of a crater, i thing thats the story
Re: *MountainSide* progress report #3 some more progress (in the first post) About the release, i will add a beta for you all to test when i have textured everything and is happy with it. I will add roads after the beta
Re: *MountainSide* progress report #3 Is there going to be a road on the side like from Mt. Doom in ROR?
Re: *MountainSide* progress report #3 Wow, certainly coming along nicely! I hope you don't abandon it!
