    Hello,
I have been experiencing a problem with some of the official BeamNG maps: East Coast USA, Hiroshi Raceway, Dry Rock Island, and Jungle Island. Whenever I try to open one of these maps in either freeroam or scenarios, the game crashes and I get an error message. Hiroshi Raceway used to work before the most recent update, but I haven't been able to open the other three since I bought the game. Is there any way to fix this problem? The game is amazing in every other respect, but I want to be able to use these maps.

    Thanks in advance!

Could you provide details on the error message?

It is a small window that pops up asking me to send an error report to BeamNG, with the option to add in additional details and my email.

Post your torque3d.log here and send in the crash report with a detail that could link it to this thread, that way the developers should be able to figure out what's causing this.

    Things to try:

    • Go to your user, documents and delete the "BeamNG.Drive" folder.
    • Remove mods if you have them.

    If problem doesn't go away:

    • Go to user/documents/BeamNG.Drive and post your Tourqe3d.log file or quote (Copy+Paste) the file's contents on here
    • Simply open the log file with notepad, hit CTRL+A [SelectAll] and than go the fourm and copy them after selecting the function below.

Actually , i have an i5-3470 320 GHz , Ram is 8Gigs but i have a 32bit OS ( soon to be upgraded and replaced ) which might have been the cause of this problem . Also , i read the post about game memory and stuff so i understand now .

You realise there is zero point to having 8gb installed on a 32bit machine? The OS cant address more than 4.

Just be aware, windows upgrade cant upgrade a 32 bit install to 64 bit install. You need a clean 64 bit 8.1 install

Dunno what you mean by not being careful in handling x64. ITS IDENTICAL.

My specs are: Windows 7, AMD Phenom X4 965 Processor 3.40 GHz, Ram is 4 gigabytes, 32 bit OS. This problem was happening before the update to 64 bit, so I don't think that my specs are part of the problem.
I attached the Torque Log, sorry if I did it wrong. A fatal error when I tried to open East Coast USA at the end of the log. this happens whenever I try to open Dry Rock Island, Jungle Island, and Hiroshi Raceway.

It looks like you simply run out of memory.

Thanks, I just ran Windows Performance Index and found that the RAM rating went down from its former rating of 7.2 to 5.5. Only 2 Gigabytes of the 4 Gigabytes of RAM are usable. I'll check my hardware.

It should be noted that the 32 bit windows 4gb address space limit includes all peripheral devices too. The usable ram will be 4gb - VRAM - sound card ram - buffers for various network cards etc etc.

2gb VRAM GPU on a 32 bit windows system with only 4gb RAM installed will only allow 2gb of that RAM to be used. No it wont try using the unusable 2gb as VRAM. It simply cant address more than 4gb of RAM.

Hence why nobody uses 32 bit windows.

Should also note, many will notice that what I said isnt entirely true. Its not a true 1:1 mapping, 2gb of VRAM wont actually eat into 2gb of the CPU address space. However, windows will still lose a rather large chunk. Integrated graphics chipsets will however allocate themselves VRAM directly from the main pool. Network cards are memory mapped.

Thank you to everybody for their help, however I have only been able to get Dry Rock Island to work, even though my RAM has gotten back up to 3.25 Gb. I thought that Jungle Island was supposed to run better than Dry Rock Island, but I may be wrong. Is there any way that I can get the old version of Hiroshi Raceway? It had worked before the update. Reddustone, do these maps work for you? If so, you may be right that the problem is elsewhere in my computer.
My first experience with this community has been great, though. Everybody was extremely helpful!
