    For sale: a 2009 Hirochi Sunburst base model with CVT. Low miles, silver, 1.8 I4 engine that's great for fuel economy. It has a cd player as well as air conditioning.     First thing I have put into game successfully. I have permission to put it ingame. Just thrown on the d15 jbeam for now until i port over my n/b from RoR.

    Yeah well, mirrored skins aren't my fault are they, can only work with what's been given. UV mapping is underrated.

    Was just thinking to myself the other day, the second I show the "bad side" someone will jump right on it.
    I'm not here to release skins anymore either, so all good bro. :)

    The reason is quite simple. Mapping both side separately would have taken double the space on the UvMap. Consequence would have been the other details to have a smaller UvMap, making them loose quality.
    On the other side, mapping them separately would have no use for the official purpose of the game, as all the decals are done using a separate mesh with their own UvMap. Yeah, it would have been better for skinners to have them mapped separately, but the downsides are probably more.. :)

    Thanks for your input, and yes it would have been better for skinners, can't agree more, but I'm not getting into that argument again. No chance in hell. As a sidenote and the only thing I'll say is that I could easily list the vehicles with double sided UV maps, and this particular DDS is twice the size 4096 x 2048. No performance issue in any way, shape or form. I had planned to get rid of all text on the side of the skin anyway. Maybe one day I'll learn to uv map, until then... it is what it is.

    There is still plenty of room if you only map the parts that recieve bodycolor on both sides:

    This map is sadly not very well optimized...I was quite tired and didn't want to spend any more minute looking at the UVs :p It works well though.
