Re: Ibishu 200BX Static Head Lights

This is looking very well done!

To sort out the shading errors, you just need to apply a flat shading to the edges. To do this, go into edit mode, select the offending edge, press "w" and select "shade flat". It has the same effect as edge split, but only affects individual or multiple selected edges (select them by right clicking). You can also "shade smooth", which does the opposite.

In this case, the very corner needs to be shaded flat (essentially anywhere that turns 90 degrees to form the inner part of the panel needs flat shading). Also, on the corner of the bonnet needs to be fixed. If you are having troubles with this, I would be happy to help;)

Next there's making the headlights. You may be able to hack ones up off the Covet, but starting with a fresh design would probably be better.

Looking good! One thing I just noticed though is that it may look better if you increase the height of the headlights/grille (i.e lower the top of the front mask/bumper), and perhaps bringing the bonnet forward a little (effectively creating less of a slope for the headlights and grille)

Re: Ibishu 200BX Static Head Lights

ah yes. that was actually the plan. i wanted to go to the style of a nissan silvia s13 a lil bit.
the first step that i had in my mind was to fill the gaps of the pop up head lights in the bonnet and make the top of the bumper flat.
after that i was planning to sculp the bumper a bit more and make a seperate grille and headlights.
and finally sculp everything again so it fits eachother in style.

but i hadnt thought about stertching the hood forward. i will try it when im at the point that i actually have the headlights xD, since i still have to learn how to make stuff from a simple cube in blender.

I see it too. This will be a cool variation for the BX, especially if selectable as a model like the Roamer etc.

I thought it was close to a 1994 Silvia S14.

If you can't model and textutre good, you could take the Grand Marshal headlights and front signals and alter the shape a bit, i'd just do that and see how it works out.
Looks very nice by the way.

Re: Ibishu 200BX Static Head Lights

so this is my first attempt of creating the headlight.
    3.jpg

i used the headlights of a nissan silvia S14 areo as example, instead of the regular S14 headlights.
the reason for this is because its sharper, seems easier to make and also fits the tail lights better then the rounder S14 lights.

what do you guys think of this model so far? anything i should keep in mind while making this?

Re: Ibishu 200BX Static Head Lights

That's looking pretty nice! Perhaps just add a little more curvature to the lenses (as opposed to being flat) and it would look a lot better. Also make sure it fits perfectly into the bonnet, be sure to take note of the edgeloops of the vanilla car, and model your lights to suit.

Basically, just make sure that the poly density, shape and edgeloops match with that of the 200BX. It will make the product look much better ^.^
