ECC RAM, hard drives made for a minimum amount of uptime, fans that go like mad to cool things, etc. All that is, a little better built desktop. Still blows my mind.
I don't see how cable tying a sleeved cable would void any warranty ever. Even if it did, you could cut it off and they'll be none the wiser. @sam non saggy gpu masterrice
it's the OS choice that determines how long a pc can run for, not whether it's a server class or consumer or business class pc windows will generally last about a month for me, if you have updates turned off, you could probably go a bit longer (like bubble went 3 months) linux depending on distro can easily go about a year or longer thanks to the fact that unlike windows it can update files that are in-use while running, instead of having to restart to install them and while i can't test this, since mac os is unix based (unsure about this, can anyone testify to this?) i'd imagine it'd be a similar result to linux
Would it be stupid to pair Titan X with 4690k vs 5820k and one gtx 970 for a moment and buy second sometimes later? I liked to have just 1 card because i read oculus like more if there is just one card. Because im going to buy one, dk2 or the retail version when it comes out.
Go for the i5 and Titan X. A Titan X is more powerful than dual 970's, and the 4690K is a great gaming CPU.
Hmm so http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Marsa1/saved/#view=jZvCmG this is what i came up. Little pricey but have to invest there where you spent a lot of time ? "The Kingston Predator 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2400 Memory operating voltage of 1.65V exceeds the Intel Haswell Refresh CPU recommended maximum of 1.5V+5% (1.575V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum." What does this mean? Also the screen, is it ok or do i just go basic 60Hz ?
Is it my GPU or CPU that is bottlenecking me in beamng? My desktop specs: OS: Windows 7 CPU: Intel i5 4670K GPU: AMD 7770 1GB RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600MHZ MOBO: MSI Gaming Board Z97 STORAGE: 2TB WD Green Drive / 230GB WD HHD (Old use for pictures.) I get about 60FPS on grip map and 25-40 on the american map (Town looking map) (cant remember the name of it) But what I am wondering is that when I play the game it doesnt seem smooth at all it is like choppy. I can see the game changing frames. I can noticeable tell that it is laggy but the with the FPS mainly above 30 it shouldn't be. Could it be my TV monitor? Vizio (http://www.vizio.com/e261va.html) 60HZ. I don't actually have a monitor it is a TV would that be the problem?
If you're experiencing stuttering like that, it could be that Intellipower WD drive. They're known for creating issues with games. Don't always assume it's the GPU/CPU, it's sometimes something much simpler.
Usually i would say that your gpu will be the issue but since you are running at 720p it should be totally fine.
I was thinking that I might get a mechanical keyboard. Now I know there are people, not saying they are any of you, that are like "OMG u dont hav mecanical keebord skrub" and I know, I have a membrane keyboard, as does everyone else in my family and group of friends who also play PC at my school. Now, I have 4 options: keep my membrane keyboard, their is nothing wrong with it but I kinda want to upgrade anyway; get a cheap-and-cheerful mechanical keyboard and wait until it breaks; save up a shit ton of money and buy a CoolerMaster, Asus Strix series or other high end keyboard and never upgrade ever again because I'll be poor AF or, now this is the slightly odd idea, buy a old Mechanical keyboard, the legendary "Clicky" IBM Model M off ebay or something. I really don't care about looks, I say that and I deliberately bought this keyboard for an extra £5 to get the one with the LEDs, but I want functionality. I don't give a toss about Macro keys or whatever, numpad isn't needed but would be nice to have and I don't want to spend more than £50-60 unless I am going for the high end option. Any suggestions? I think that someone on this forum has a Model M, if that is true and they are looking at this post, tell me what it is like compared to a membrane or another mechanical keyboard if you have used/had one. Thanks in advance!
What is your budget? I really love my Corsair K70 with reds. Ducky makes great keyboards as well as Das. They aren't flashy, but high quality. What is your switch preference? Do you like the tactile keys that the blues have or are you more a fan of the linear press like the reds?
