I just had a huge score yesterday. Got 7 computers for $4 each. I got a piece of celery, a Pentium D, two Pentium 4's, two Core2 Duos, and a Pentium G630. Among the hard drives are two 160GB WD Blues. Also got two GeForce 8400GS's. The Pentium G630 machine is approximately this machine: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Funky7Monkey/saved/vk6j4D. It has a different PSU than listed, just an off brand one. No video card. No optical drive. I'm going to upgrade the CPU, the PSU and the RAM to use as another gaming machine.
I can do drawz yay: (imported from here) Decided to bullshit a perspective sketch from a picture, since I haven't really learned the "proper" way to do perspective yet, but I'm actually proud of this, seeing as how I just started trying this out a few days ago. I might take more of an interest in drawing now. XD Also, I am horrible with wheels. I apologize for the puke circles.
I've heard they are extremely reliable and durable, and I imagine that the massive storage space can make for quite a utility vehicle. And I'd imagine they'd have very well-maintained interiors. If you don't mind the potential for irony if you crash. Look into vanishing points if you haven't already. They're limited, but effective and simple, ways of making good perspective.
Hearses kinda creep me out. I wouldn't want to be driving down an empty road at night by myself in one. I'd constantly glance over my shoulder. I'd like to own an old caddy limo someday. That'd be cool.
The potential for irony is one of the wonderful risks you must take. But just imagine me, a 6'3" dude with a mohawk driving around a tiny redneck rural town in a hearse sticking out in stark contrast compared to all the lifted chevy's with "wickid friggin muddas dood". Plus, how many people just daily drive a hearse? None in my area at least. If you ever get your crown vic, and I ever get a hearse, and i ever go to tennessee, I'll make sure to follow every crown vic i see....very closely
And I'll make sure to brake check every hearse driven by a tall guy with a mohawk that's tailgating me.
I'll have to make some mashed potatos if that happened http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/4980896126.html It's pretty close. 4,000 bucks, but im sure i could get that down to 3,000 considering i'd have to repair it before i could drive it home. (that's if the seller has any heart whatsoever) But alas, I need to get my license first v.v
I didn't notice that we're neighbahs. To bad Caddy pretty much has the market corned when it comes to hearses.
It'd be a bitch to pull the heads on one of those transverse Northstar v8s. Also, thumbs down for FWD caddy. I'd buy something older and RWD.
We arent quiiiite neighbors, I live in maine (aka lobstahland) NH is just the closest result for a hearse on maine craigslist. And I dont really care about the make of the hearse, just so long as it isnt one of those fugly, disproportionate european hearses. - - - Updated - - - Beggars cant be choosers. This is basically the only hearse for sale within 150 miles. I'd like to get my hands on one of those 60's caddy hearses or an older oldsmobile hearse
Sounds like the G630 is actually better than your Pentium D. You should swap it (plus mobo). Also how do you get so many C2D's? Most of the old PC's I find are Athlon or P4.
I already knew what those were, and even tried to see how I could use them in the drawing, but it was midnight, and I was not choosing to do it with any research. I honestly didn't expect it to turn out as well as it did. I will definitely work with the proper techniques in other sketches, because I'd love to feel confident in where I put my freehand strokes in 3D space, and not have them floating and incorrect. 4/10 total sausagefest. actually is aight. i need to sketch kitchen things some time.
I got a 286 that is deader than shit. Keeping it because it's IRIS and IRIS' are rare as shit. Now I own 2 of them.
