Myth, Zappy, HadACoolName, Wolf, or Jetcoasterfan. His urine potion filled squirtgun would bring down justice upon the unruly plebs. (or me, because mohawk of justice)
I'd say just multiply the current ones by 3 or something... I don't know if this is still the case, but I believe there's more moderators outside of the usual dev-team. If that's still the case, Imho it's a shame that we don't see them posting very often. It's hard to get to know their personality, like... you can't get to know them at all, so it's also harder to make personal funny remarks(something which I loved on a GTA forum I used to be on)... My reasoning is if members know the moderators on a slightly more "personal" level because they know their personalities, you're much more likely to comply with whatever they say, and you won't ever feel like you're in a police-state. Kinda like a neighborhood police officer versus a state trooper that noone knows. You can tell this happens with the devteam too: Tdev and Estama don't post very often, while you often see some friendly banter with Gabe, Hutch and Dsam. I'm fine with whoevers moderating currently, and also don't see an issue with the amount. Forum gets moderated pretty well, just think it wouldn't hurt to have more, even if it means they won't have anything to do half the time. As for the direct question: I think VeyronEB and Zappymouse would make a pretty good moderator, they have nice personalities and seem to know what should and shouldn't be allowed, and aren't afraid to tell it like it is(imho that's important.)
Nobody in their right mind would choose me. I'm also keeping my mouth shut on who I would choose. Why? My belief is that moderators are chosen because the higher staff believe they are suitable, my say means nothing in this matter.
I would try and get most invited members from the ROR forums. Veyron, Myth, one or two others. As a humor option I would love to have a big red button at beamng HQ that made me a mod until they deactivated it. It would only be pressed in the most dire situations, but when it's pressed the forum population would suddenly halve and lots of people would get infractions. I can get grumpy. Serious suggestion: Have an invited system. Give a special badge to people that show special talent and work ethic in certain areas. They couldn't ban, but they might be able to highlight a post or sticky a thread. Maybe put dummiesman in the lua coding area, arb15 (the guy that created the stock car modpacks) in the mods section, myth and Chris maybe in vehicle creation in general, 6677 (and others, he's just got fair knowlege of many things.) in offtopic, bluescreen (and maybe me, just to inflate my ego a bit ) in computer help.
AR162B* (Again excuse me and feeling the need to correct people, I apologize if it offends) Anyways, If the invited system is ever introduced here I think it should be drastically changed from what we have at RoR. More community based for example, rather than "admins and invited invite people" which can create unfair advantages to others. Just a random thought.
I know many would want moderator, but I really don't see a need for it, we really do have it under control. Inviting community members to become moderator can be seen as quite unfair, I could name 20+ people that would deserve it, but do we need 20 people? Sure would could invite just 2-3 but how fair is that on the others that deserve it just as much? Just a random thought..
I agree with Sam. Many people would make good moderators, but making them moderators might be unfair. Maybe this'll happen when the community grows.
I agree with Sam as well, however that's not really what the thread is getting at. Like I said at the start this is only a 'for fun' thing just to see peoples' opinions.
If someone was to choose me as a moderator, I'd just panic and ban everyone sorry for the pic, don't know how it got there.
