People who are in the BeamNG Content Creator program get access to the updates earlier so they can make vids on it just in time for release…
My thoughts are that FPU was originally just a trailer company, but in the mid 2000s a small team of their engineers started working on their own personal side project (the Wydra), and they presented this prototype to the FPU execs. The execs liked the prototype and decided to start mass-production of the Wydra in 2008. As for the lack of content with the Percheron, it might roll out in waves, like the T-Series remaster. Remember how that first drop included all of the remastered trailers? Maybe they'll add more content to the Percheron in future updates.
Tbh, I didn't really find the Percheron to be lacking in content for its first release. It has every basic and usual configuration met every day on the European roads; the single- and twin-rear axle fifth wheel trucks, the box truck, the stationary flatbed truck, the cement mixer truck and the tanker truck. Plus the twin-steer variant. It's certainly gonna receive extra content and configurations in the upcoming updates. But I hope the FPU Box Trailer and Tanker Trailer also have the Muhten Tag paint design and I also hope the FPU Tanker Trailer also comes in a long form, because that's also a usual sight on our roads!
We actually had the same vision for the Percheron and the Potent! I also had a few other suggestions. I’ve been thinking a little more about the Potent’s timeline, and I have a slightly revised suggestion. Since the original Potent starts around 1990, what about keeping the pre-facelift from 1990 to 1996, then introducing the facelift in 1997 and keeping it in production until around 2013? My idea would be that Cherrier introduced the newer logo around 1996. The 1997 Potent facelift could then be one of the first trucks to adopt this new branding, while the Percheron would naturally use the same logo when it arrived in 2000. The older rectangular Cherrier badge could therefore stay on the 1990–1996 Potent, while the newer badge would be used on the 1997–2013 facelift. I think this would also make the relationship between the two trucks quite coherent: the Potent remains the older long-haul flagship, similar to the Renault Magnum, while the Percheron arrives in 2000 as the newer and more versatile Renault Premium-type model. Of course, the dates are just a suggestion, but I think 1990–1996 / 1997–2013 could fit the Potent really well.
I was saying that you could post your suggestions in the Cherrier Potent's mod thread, not this thread. I think it would be more relevant there.
It makes more sense to post your suggestion for the Potent somewhere the mod author will actually see it, like the main thread for the Potent.
I feel like update 0.40 has a high chance of coming tomorrow. With all the new vids of update 0.40 releasing earlier, it wouldn't be a surprise if they released it tomorrow (I'm aware that the devs haven't released Friday updates, but it can always happen...)...
It better. I need to crush the new eu truck then never use it again because I only use the Grand Marshal and Pessimas.
The T-series logging configs no longer come with logs loaded already (at least in the thumbnails). I wonder if this change has something to do with career and the way loads are handled.
A CC said it's coming on the 19th for both PC and PS5. Can't remember who it was, but it's in the comments of one of the update videos
Gotta say with the base PS5 struggling with spawning multiple vehicles, I have a feeling crossplay won't be a thing for official multiplayer. I'm guessing stricter/lower player limits will be in place on console vs PC.
Tdev mentioned that there would be crossplay: But I am assuming maybe there would be more limitations if someone is playing on PS5 with other PC users.
It wasn’t struggling that much in the other youtubers videos on a base ps5. But ps5 pro getting a solid 60fps is deadass amazing
Forgot Tdev mentioned crossplay, but the base PS5 struggling in a 4-car race does not leave much wiggle room at all. Either development/optimization will bridge the gap well enough, or something will have to give. There already exists a spawn limiter on the PS5 version (we're not really sure what that looks like in actuality just yet), and there isn't one on PC. PC can, without a doubt, run 12+ non-simplified cars at the same time for people with recommended specs or higher. BeamMP had standard servers at 12 players for the longest time. It wouldn't make sense to handicap PC players, unless they're just going to say PS5 players can join any online lobby they want, and they can either accept the reduced fps or find another lobby.
