I highly doubt the dev team is hiding configs from content creators. They’ve never done something like that. Raceless did mention in his video that there are mentions of unused cabs for the Percheron, which strongly suggest the vehicle will be continually updated with content in future updates, maybe like how they handled the T-Series remake
I really appreciate how the weight of the driver dummy (and its position in the car) affects the car. Devs said the character's weight will be adjustable, too. So some of y'all can make your avatar as husky as you are irl
my only disappointment with the new tuck being not from Scandinavia or Germany is that there isn't a high power 700 or 600 hp engine variation but maybe the devs could give it one even though its not very common for a non German or Swedish truck to have much more than 530 or so hp
WOW update not even out, Everyone picking at it already, I think there will be like the T_series remake, only this is a all new truck, part 1 main Truck ( 0.40 ) parts 2 more configs. I aint a ( semi ) truck guy ,but i can not wait for it As a Aussie we see more of this type of truck ( in citys ) and T-series type in the out back
A few more random things I noticed (spoilers, just warning): -with the trailers being FPU branded, that gives us our second (much more useful) product produced by FPU -Raceless pointed out an added config to the vivace, that being a driver’s school car. That made me realize that yet another French vehicle received new content. This only strengthens my belief that we could be getting a French map sometime in the near future. -The Percheron’s production years are from 2000-2004. That means it is the oldest Cherrier in vanilla BeamNG! -The mixer upfit seems to match the EU mixer upfit that was found in the files back when the T-series was remastered to the best of my memory (I unfortunately can’t find a photo of it). This means that it’s possible the Percheron has been in development since at least ~0.31. I would say that means the Percheron will likely receive more content in 0.41 and beyond. -the FPU flatbed trailer appears to have a small bumper-pull config along with the 5th wheel configs. We do not currently have an offical European Passenger vehicle larger than the Tograc. My personal theory is that we may get a larger EU SUV, or an EU van/mpv in the future. This could range anywhere from something range-rover based, to something similar to a Sprinter van though, so it’s too early to confirm anything on this front. I just thought it was worth pointing out.
I think it's pretty cool we get some more branded things added to the game to expand the lore. I've always loved seeing little things here and there being added.
Why has no one pointed out whether the Percheron's Upfits, or trailers, have Career Cargo Box support?
From what I've seen in the pre release videos, the American semi trailers still aren't currently listed as Randolph in the vehicle selector
I see they're going back to those dated dark backgrounds, despite how out of place they will make 10 years worth of mod thumbnails. Strange choice by the devs. Can anyone think of an IRL example of a company that does offroad amphibious open-air vehicles and trailers?
Yeah, that's the only thing that genuinely makes me annoyed about this update - yes, I might be a bit peeved about the Percheron's lack of content, but that only affects that vehicle, and it could change in the future. I don't think anyone's gonna bother going back through and updating 10 years' worth of mod vehicles - and if they were going to, it'd take ages. I don't think there's any examples of that, certainly not of this size (and of the non-amphibious variety). However, BeamNG's got plenty of vehicles under "odd" brands (see: SBR, Hopper, Pigeon/Wigeon, Stambecco), so it's not that surprising to me. However, it'd also make the description of FPU from the 0.27 devblog rather irrelevant: I guess that's changed now - unless the engineers became wealthy enough off of Wydra sales to start making trailers, which I don't find very likely. Honestly, it'd be really funny if Randolph were to make golf karts or go-karts alongside their trailer business, just to mirror FPU (big trailers -> tiny vehicles). They likely will - I believe that all the cargo upfits for the current truck fleet (like the box trucks and flatbeds) have cargo box support, and just about every other vehicle also has support for boxes. It'd be really strange for the devs to neglect that.
According to Raceless theres more planned content for the new truck. Little annoyed about having to update my mods again to fit 0.40
I think also with the new 0.40 update, there are new sounds heard in "TalkswithNoise" video. The truck has a new airhorn, and some new hydraulic sounds so, there are some cool little things to look forward too alongside the Truck.
Its always fun to see a brand that just makes a lot of bs and now we have an in-game example that makes the whatever wydra thing and trailers. the only examples I can think of is yamaha but im sure there are plenty of others irl. P.S. also do the trailers have production years or nah?
From the videos I’m seeing, there’s no illumination for the dashboard switches on the Percheron. I’m really hoping this is a bug pre-release, it seems like such an obvious detail to miss
i really don't know why they are switching to darker backgrounds again it just makes everything more out of place and imo make the cars look worse
