You know, we could actually have mods of dozens of different characters for BeamNG based off of this, like in GMod. Amusing.
I heard the 19th, but an early pc release would make more sense in the coming week or 2 to fix big bugs then keep working on the PS5 release
I don't know why, but with the stuff I see, I feel a little disappointed about the truck : it has one engine instead of two (or three), no facelift (2000 - 2004 ?!), no V8 (like Scania) or V10 (like 2000's MAN Trucks). So yes, that's cool to see a European truck, with a 8 axles configs, pneumatic suspended cab, but I feel like I expected too much from the truck. I don't know what do you think about it. I can be wrong, because I didn't touch the vehicle (because I'm not from the creator branch and the 0.40 isn't out publicly), and maybe it will have more pieces and configs in the future (facelifts, engines, interiors facelifts) It's just my impression.
maybe it has some new feature that devs have put all the effort in and didn't make more of the car. Or they've made eurotruck so the community shuts up \j
Plok also had a guy with hands that could be thrown - and one of the coolest soundtracks of any SNES game. The "2000-2004" could be for just this version of the Percheron (at least, I hope - it'd be weird to have a semi truck being produced for only 5 years, especially when so many other vehicles have gotten their production runs extended for 15, 20, or even 30 years since 2020). We could get a facelift in another update. To be fair, maybe it could've been given to content creators with just the straight-six. We did hear an inline-four sound in one of the teaser videos, but maybe that was just the noise for the six. I dunno - again, really strange to just have one engine when the devs have been making major strides to make sure that as many vehicles as possible have at least two engines (going so far as to share engines between vehicles). The only other vehicles to have one engine are the MD-Series, Wydra, Aurata, HT-55, and DT40L. So, as Raceless said in their video, maybe this is just a Part 1 to the Percheron, and we'll be getting more content (including another engine or two) in the December update. But I wouldn't be surprised if the Percheron stayed with just the straight-six. The devs seem to go buck-wild for body and frame customization, while doing the bare minimum for the engines. I dunno why that's the case - maybe because it takes longer to model and texture a new engine compared to new bumpers or a widebody kit, or it could be because sounds are so difficult to get a hold of. Or it could be both. You did remind me that GuGu Star did a drawing of the Percheron, and wow, did they get close (at least with the front end).
wow, theres a lot of youtube niggas (im black guys) posting the new update before the release. now thats what a call a taser. i like it
Like a hydraulic retarder ? I hope they didn't create the truck only to calm down the community, because it's a truck that I was waiting since the TC-series.
Well it is unfortunate, that would not surprise me. The MD never did get class 8 configs, tandem/drop axles, or the engine selection it should have either (Yes the first gen Kodiak only got one engine but that was an outlier for these trucks IRL. Even the short lived, generally elusive, Mexico only Ram 6500/7000 had 3 engine options + a LPG version of the gasser. Ford and Chevy both had overlap in their medium and heavy duty offerings with the Kodiak/Bison and L-Series/Medium duty F-Series). Not to take away from everything the truck has but it certainly could get more and I think the Cherrier will be in a similar situation.
IMO 1 engine with a few ECUs is not unreasonable but like the T-series I would anticipate a bit more later on (maybe even a better shift knob)
raceless said he looked into the files and said theres more to come with this truck ? so i guess theres more configs maybe a face lift ECT
No, really ?! That would be good, atleast there's one thing I wanted which will come for 0.40. I'm a little happier.
The update isn't even out yet and I've already fallen in love with the Percheron. I love how interactive it is! Openable sunroofs have been a thing in modded vehicles but now we even have a functional shade for it! Really makes me hope it comes back to the Sunburst. I also really like how the cab hydraulics were done on it. There's even extended interactivity in the upfits and possibly trailers. You can also lift up the sideskirts which I didn't even know was doable. Always thought they had a fixed mount. The detailed keyfob is also very nice. Very glad to see dome lights, with what even seems to be lighting modes which you can switch, which I really love, as I've always wanted an option to turn off the automatic domelights whenever I'm daytime driving. And my favourite feature of all, they did actually include a new horn for the truck, ahahahaha that's so cool!! Seems to be the standard euro flat tone horn, which I'm really happy to see officially implemented.
Yeah, it honestly was a shame that the MD-Series got only one rear axle just so that it wouldn't overlap with the T-Series. Especially when they already share so many parts and the MD could get a new rear frame (or a few) with tandem axles. I also find it strange that it uses so many parts from the D-Series except the engines, which already are in the common folder and used in multiple other vehicles. Yeah, I agree that it's probably for the best that it only has one engine on initial release (just to make sure the update is dropped on the 19th). However, the MD-Series didn't get another engine with 0.36, so...I don't think we'll get another engine for the Percheron (at least, not any time soon). I'd love to be wrong about that - and to be fair, the devs did drop the T-Series V8 into the WL in 0.39, so it is possible. Yeah, I agree. The devs clearly are no strangers to making weird racing vehicles (we have a racing Wydra and a drag Pigeon and Wigeon), and the majority of vehicles have at least one race/rally/drag/drift variant. (Oftentimes, they have three or all four of those categories.) So, I don't know why they wouldn't bother making a race version of a vehicle type that has an official race championship that's very popular. But again, that might change in the future. Also, based on Noise's video, it looks like the Wentward won't be getting any more configs (even if it gets a remaster/refresh), but that could change by the time the game releases:
You know, I thought that I would try to wait until the update to check out everything about it, but now that everything’s been shown off, and all the content creators are making their videos, I think it’s gonna be pretty unavoidable. I just popped over and watched Neil and talkswithnoise’s videos, and I’m honestly pretty impressed! Not the largest update per se, and not the most configs on the Percheron, but I still like it! Love the expansion to the FPU brand too!
