WAIT THE HOPPER TOO! THERES ONLY 18 CONFIGS CURRENTLY I was wrong, its just because those configs have alternate transmissions
I really think the PC update could come out today or tomorrow. There's nothing left to show in the teasers, and releasing 0.40 on PC before PS5 would give the developers time to fix bugs. Updates on PS5 have to be approved by Sony, so treating the PC version as a testing ground makes much more sense.
these black thumbnails are gonna bother me so much, i can't stand having different thumbnail backgrounds (which was why i was pissed when 0.39 broke the showroom for custom configs) and kljp, one of my favorite mods, hasn't even updated to 0.39
If I understood correctly in the Muye Video, the update for PC also releases on the release of the PS5 version. So on 19.10.
I'm not referring to what the devs said, but what was said in the Muye video at 12:32: There he says the update comes out on 19.10., and there is also no correction in comments that mentioned it wrong.
Looks like we are also finally getting a way to change the temperature without using the world editor:
that's quite a big stretch, Beamng has always simulated different temperatures throughout the day cycle, we just now are able to change them
Oh yeah, so I can recreate an accurate ECUSA experience in February: all of the snow has melted, but it's still 30 degrees outside
They would have to pull historical data. I don’t know; doesn’t really seem worth it to me; the temp ranges we have work fine, especially considering we don’t have anything weather related. The celestial bodies makes sense because those can be accurately predicted. But who knows; they’ve surprised us before
Average high and low every day for a given year (say 2025), at each maps longitude/latitude, and then mathematically add some degree of variance +/- however many degrees…I mean, they can do it, for sure. Will they? I don’t know if that’s a great use of man power. How much does ambient temp affect things in game? Cooling, power, brakes? The real thing it would affect most irl is tires, but they’d also have to model surface temps as well
The devs often add a few configurations to cars even if they don't get a remaster. Also the muye video is absolutely wild, he dropped so many new features like it's NOTHING
So, just to be clear - was MuYe's video fine by the devs? Because it seems really strange to me to reveal the entire vehicle (name and all) so early, let alone all the other features. That hasn't been done in a while, and Stenyak's comment makes me think it was unexpected: Stenyak seems fine with it, and the video hasn't been taken down, but I dunno - still seems really odd that a Youtuber would reveal update content before the devs. I'm so used to everyone uploading their videos on the day of release (or a few days after). I'm mostly asking because judging by how much attention the video got (and still gets), this could become the norm for the really major releases. Obviously, not every update, but let's say that official multiplayer drops - I could see the devs asking MuYe or Neil or whomever to drop a video a couple weeks before release, to drum up attention. Man, I remember when 0.10 dropped and everyone was trying to update their thumbnails to look more like the official ones. It's been so long since then, that I'm not sure why the devs bothered changing the thumbnails now. Seems like a waste to me - who's gonna bother updating nine years' worth of vehicle thumbnails? I'm aware that Euro minivans are quite different from US ones - but by the devs' standards (i.e. adding new technologies), I'm not sure if they'd be different enough.
