I wonder if the vehicles that did not get a refresh/remaster prior to 0.39, will receive a minor refresh or content update next time around. :)

alright, I took the liberty of comparing this with an actual T-Series because I wasn't convinced it was the same truck, lol.

here's what I found after putting them side by side:

    1. The T-Series has a cylindrical fuel tank. The teaser truck has a square fuel tank
      .
    2. The exhaust systems are different. The T-Series has a single exhaust that comes from the right side of the engine and goes straight up. The other option is dual exhausts, which basically follow the same routing. On the teaser truck, the exhaust also comes from the right side of the engine, but then exits behind the engine on the left, thru what looks like a square muffler. That could indicate it's a modern truck, or at least newer than the T-Series.

    3. There's no steering-dually-steering frame configuration for the T-Series like there is on the square truck (let's call it that since everything on it is square, lol).

    4. The T-Series frame is straight along the entire length of the truck. On the square truck, the frame narrows as it comes back from the engine area.

    5. For this comparison, I used a regular T83, not a cabover version. You can tell by the distance between the engine and the fuel tanks. On the teaser truck, though, most of the frame configurations appear to be cabovers because that distance is much shorter, which could indicate it's a European truck. However, at the bottom of the teaser image (the truck inside the QR code area), you can see one with a much larger gap between the engine and the fuel tanks, similar to the T-Series. That means the square truck is probably either a European cabover with long-nose variants (rare, but they do exist, such as the Scania T-Series (ironic name isn't it?) and the Volvo NH, which was mainly aimed at the Brazilian market but was also officially sold in Europe, or a new American truck with cabover configurations, which I think is much less likely, given the rarity of it.

    6. The square truck clearly has an inline engine layout, and it's different from the T-Series. The turbo isn't in the same position.
That's what I noticed, guys - actually, i notice a few other details, like the different differentials, but my english isn't englishing so i focused on the main differences. The teaser truck definitely is NOT a original T-Series or new frame configs for the T-Series. It is either an european truck or a completely new american truck. Or a newer T-Series. But everything indicates its an european truck. I also learned that I need to be less stubborn, lol.

It's almost certainly going to be a Swedish truck, with the crown logo being a reference to Scania's. It's probably not going to be called Jargl though.

For some trivia, Scania gets its name from the historic province of Sweden, Skåne, where it was founded, hence the logo being the coat of arms.

Maybe the devs could take some inspiration from Sisu's trucks, as well. (These are Sisu Polars, which use Mercedes engines, transmissions, and cabins. The M-Series is the one that the Gifu from My Summer Car is based on.)

However, I will admit that Scania's by far the more iconic brand - the R143 alone's probably more famous than all of Sisu's vehicles combined. While it being Swedish is quite likely (based off of the crown image), I wouldn't be surprised if this ended up being an ETK. I honestly would be fine with this new truck being an ETK, since we haven't had a new one since the I-Series dropped ten years ago. ETK's one of only two brands from before 0.8 to not get any new vehicles since then:

    -Bruckell: Bastion (0.24.1), Nine (0.34)
    -Burnside: Nothing
    -Civetta: Scintilla (0.25)
    -ETK: Nothing
    -Gavril: Bluebuck (0.17), MD-Series (0.33)
    -Hirochi: Aurata (0.30), WL-40/HT-55 (0.38)
    -Ibishu: Hopper (0.9), Wigeon (0.23)

But even so, we haven't had a new major brand (on the level of ETK or Gavril, not some specialist outfit) since the FCV dropped in 2020. I think it's high time we get another one, at this point. What's funny to me is that the Wentward (which is probably getting refreshed/remastered in 0.40) was probably planned to be Swedish (Jargl DT825, from the old concept list). So, it's only fitting that it gets updated alongside this new truck.

Yeah, you're right - but it's not the first time there's been a large gap between remasters/refreshes:

    -0.24.1 (20 Dec 2021) to 0.26 (19 Sep 2022, nine months later)
    -0.26 to 0.28 (4 Apr 2023, six months later)
    -0.28 to 0.31 (14 Dec 2023, eight months later)
    -0.33 (18 Sep 2024) to 0.35 (2 Apr 2025, six months later)
    -0.36 (17 Jun 2025) to present, 13 months later

This could be another slidenodes situation, where a single feature holds back the release (or in this case, refresh/remaster) of several vehicles, and then they're released (refreshed/remastered) in back-to-back updates. We had that happen before, in 0.3.8.1 to 0.8 (twelve vehicles were released in a little over a year). Hopefully, it's not tire thermals, since that could take years.

I agree that Jargl would be a bit silly. However, for this post, I came up with the brand of Dalarna as a Saab equivalent (named after the Dalarna region in Sweden). Looking at their flag, it honestly would be a baller logo.

Not sure where you found these but they literally mean nothing... The list of links is just a completely random, tiny subset of the content of the data hosting service used by this website, so it's just images of random old mods from repo, whatever images people post on the forum, and some images from old changelogs from before we switched to the new main page look (including ones that weren't used in the end). The 250 photos are, from what I can tell, just random photos one of us took when they visited some classic car museums in Germany back in 2015 and uploaded them just in case we will ever need them, they were probably forgotten and never used as references on anything. So basically none of that means anything. That truck frame photo people are discussing looks like some random ancient mod based on a pre-remaster T-Series frame, looks like they attempted to make an EU truck out of the T-Series, likely was never released and was just shown in development screens or something. We don't reuse outdated meshes as placeholders like this, as you can see in the teaser we use untextured blockout meshes instead as they actually fit the final shape of the vehicle

yeah, Scania is extremely iconic. but it gets kinda awkward because if we consider modded brands as part of the lore, then Segra kinda fills that hole.

if the new truck is Swedish, i hope its a Jargl or another brand that won't just look like one specific thing. it could also make sense as an ETK.

All of the variants with leaf springs also have a transfer case and front/rear driveshafts, meaning they'll be 4x4/6x6/8x8 variants.
I've reorganised the layouts into their axle configurations below:

Besides what Agent_Y said, didn't you question the fact that the date was literally today's date? The date you got surely wasn't the date that photo was taken. Besides, the textures and everything else look ancient compared to today's standard.

I mean, the devs probably don't care that much about "overwriting" mods with their official vehicles (see: Ibishu Dove vs. 4-wheel Pigeon, Labrador Beaver vs. FPU Wydra, the Ibishu Signia in the KLJP pack vs. the Diana, Stoat's old Prerunner vs. the Dunekicker and D-Runner, etc.). I get wanting to have both the Segra and the Dalarna (what I'm calling the new truck until we get its official name) in traffic without them being awkward. However, I think the Dalarna will probably "overwrite" the Segra.

The devs tend to go for the more common or recognizable examples when building vehicles for a certain type and era (like the BX (Nissan S13), Hopper (TJ Wrangler), and Moonhawk ('73-'77 Chevelle)). And it's very understandable. There'd be more research material for these more popular types, there'd be more customization options that could be referenced, and more people would want to buy the game to drive "their" vehicle that they or their family/friends own(ed).

I'm guilty of this myself. One of my favorite vehicles in the game's the '96 Pessima, partially because it reminds me of my dad's 2008 Sonata (which was totaled eight years ago). They're almost exactly the same size, although the Sonata's a bit heavier.

If anything, I think the devs look at popular mods and try to implement them into the game - that's happened many times over the years, with the biggest example being the traffic mod. The Segra's thread was posted in May of 2023, with its last update being just over two years ago - that's more than enough time for the devs to see how popular Euro trucks can be.

As for not being similar to one specific vehicle...yeah, that ship sailed many years ago, for the most part (see: Wigeon, Lansdale, Sunburst remaster, BX remaster). It's probably easier for the devs to just "GTA-ify" one car instead of trying to combine multiple vehicles into one, and after the SBR incident many years ago...I don't blame them for wanting to do that. The Lansdale's one person's favorite car because it's so close to their IRL Grand Caravan.

I disagree, the devs aren't just "gta-ifying" cars, that's diminishing the work they put into the design. Most of the new cars have had basically completely original designs (all the Cherriers, the Scintilla, the Bastion, the Aurata, the SP vehicles...) apart from the Wigeon and the Lansdale i guess (even though the lansdale is a kind of vehicle where all the irl brands did something very similar so it's not really just a copy) and as for the remasters, all the cars that have been remastered lately simply leaned into what the original design was (the 200bx was clearly just a 200sx from the start, just look at the name), apart from the Sunburst, but i think it's a special case because the vehicle lead has an Impreza irl and simply liked it so much he wanted something more similar in game

I agree with the other guy, saying they are GTAifying cars after the Ardente is released is kinda a stretch. The ardente doesn't really match any irl cars.
