holy shit. after 7 years we get an update? man I thought you quit the forums lol. but srsly, love the new BC plate.

 

These plates are really good! I just finished an Ontario license plate mod (https://imgur.com/a/2s9BWPL#8Jxby5d) and would like to offer some of my help making this mod pack even better. I have gen rules that make good pseudo-valid Ontario license plate numbers, and could do the same for the other provinces/territories.

 

Looks awesome! I appreciate the offer but I've already started work on adding generation for the other plates.

Now that the American License Plate Pack has been updated and uploaded onto the repository, it's time for me to share the updated Canadian License Plate Pack! And what better way to kick off the update than by highlighting the most significant breakthrough below?


No, your eyes aren't deceiving you. The unique polar bear license plate's shape from the Northwest Territories is now accurately depicted with this update, while still remaining fully compatible with any vehicle with US license plate support! I would like to thank Car_Killer for the assistance, as well as AgentMooshroom5 for the inspiration (some logic taken from his Japanese Plate Pack). And since both are staff members, it makes sense to acknowledge all the hard work they've contributed to the community

As always, all 10 provinces and 3 territories that make up Canada have been converted to use the new license plate system in 0.39. Again, please note the following changes and potential issues:

• The internal folders have been reorganized for consistency purposes. All variations of a province/territory have been merged together into one folder where applicable (for example, Ontario), and adjustments were made to ensure that all designs still work as intended.
• Font colors and placement may still be off; I've tried my very best to get them working with the newer system such as using the right fonts and formatting, just like the US plate pack. I welcome any and all assistance on this matter!
• The Northwest Territories' license plate shape is now properly represented (thanks to Car_Killer and AgentMooshroom5). But there may be a few artifacts that remain, even after I made absolute certain that the implementation was done correctly. Please let me know if there are ways to improve this.
• Some provinces/territories may be using newer license plate designs than what is provided in the mod. Again, the purpose of the update is to make the current set work in 0.39 and later, though I would appreciate some help with the following if this were to happen: high-quality references (even better if they come without the registration applied), fonts, and formatting.

As with the American License Plate Pack, I allow Googlefluff to upload this updated mod to the repository for better accessibility.
