one thing to note that i have had issues with when had played was i had a very big fps dropbut i had 180 mods so ideleted a bunch i think i know have 120 anyways that helped somewhat but when i do the ui apps it doesnt save? i dont see a save button or whatnot all i really have is the speed limit mod ui the throttle, clutch, brake, handbrake thingy then i have the grhaph that showsyour rpm and your torque at that specific rpm if your wonering what my pc specs are there a 5600g cpu used to have a amd rx 580 but since have gotten a rtx 3060 i have 16gb of ddr4 ram(idk what speed) and i wanna say around 1.25 tb of storage but the storage device that beamng drove is on is one with around 40 gb free of 256 is this a issue known? i mean its not a big deal it just gets onnoying after redoing it alot
I don't think a hotfix will fix that. This is a new feature to stop people from trying to run what their PC cannot handle smoothly and head off the posts asking why traffic runs at 12fps. You only have 16gb of ram and beamng recommends 32gb if you want to use traffic or other advanced functions. In you performance tab you will see yellow warnings. These are just facts man.
99% of all mods are broken at the moment until the creators update them. And that usually takes a couple of weeks. As with the hundreds and hundreds of posts on reddit and discord. Disable all mods for now. This is how it goes, and this time my bet is over half never come back.
Then would it at least be possible to have a bloom toggle? I think the auto-exposure working with the intense bloom seems to be my main problem visually, not just the auto-exposure itself.
That's what I was gonna say, at least something like a slider to adjust how much auto exposure/bloom is present (either as bright as the sun, or just pitch black, and in between, of course) without having to delete the whole feature itself since it's a cool idea
Despite the FPS issues this update is beyond amazing! I do manage to maintain a constant 60fps most of the time which I'm super happy about, although at East Coast USA I do experience some FPS drops at certain places of the map, drops to around 45-50fps at sunset/evening time for a few seconds and goes back up to 60. I have no mods either. Specs: RAM: 16 GB GPU: RTX 3060 (12 GB) CPU: i5 12400F
Okay, so I have... opinions. The game looks great. Really. The sky finally looks good, I really like the clouds. I haven't used too much of the Ardente but it's a very nice car. However, I know I'm far from the first person to talk about the performance. Unlike many others I'm lucky not to have any game-breaking visual glitches. No, my problem is just the framerates. I used to be able to run 12 traffic cars on West Coast, USA on ultra settings at over 60fps without issue. Now I have to change the settings to levels that look WORSE than the game used to to play with the same (sometimes worse) performance. Plus the game refuses to spawn even close to 12 traffic cars now because it's not able to run them without performance tanking. Nighttime just bounces from anywhere between 30-60fps with random lag spikes. Compare this to TEONs Graphics Tweaks paired with CK's skybox mod in previous versions. Those mods combined made the game look very similar to how it does now. No, the time of day wasn't dynamic and neither were the clouds (and again I really like them clouds), but TEON's and CK's Skybox had a negligible impact on performance compared to this new update. They looked like 0.39 but ran like 0.38. Given all this, I don't think the graphics update was worth it considering what it's done to the game's performance. I would prefer to give up the new graphics and go back to using those mods given how the game runs now. And I should probably list my specs just to be clear. Intel I7-12700H 16GB DDR5 RAM NVIDIA RTX 3060 Laptop GPU These specs were borderline overkill for previous versions of the game, now barely able to keep up.
I have found a weird visual bug in photo mode, white dots appear on the screen (and the saved screenshot) when using the cinematic overlay while using HDR. I have noticed it using DX12 and confirmed it also happens in safe mode. I have not checked if it happens on other maps than West Coast. Here is an in-game screenshot, hopes this helps.
I really understand that not everyone is able to afford current hardware in today's economy. But saying that these specs were "borderline overkill" for 0.38 sounds really strange to me. I have some newer, better hardware and had trouble to achieve stable 60 FPS on the "high" preset with older versions. Please, everyone, try to understand what the devs did with 0.39 (and earlier updates): they are keeping a game whose development started more than 14 years ago alive and up-to-date! And this is frigging awesome! So it is absolutely expected that, at some point, you'll need better hardware to run the current version of the game. That's just how it works. That being said, I have experienced an FPS improvement with my specs: Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti Super (16 GB) Intel i5-14600 RAM: 32GB Windows 11, DirectX 12 Resolution: 3440x1440
Having UI apps be visible again while using the vehicle config menu would be nice so I don't have to leave them just to see what engine power changes happens
Noticed that the mirrors on some vehicles have a black shadow that blocks the view when looking at them at certain angles. Seems to only happen at night:
Screen Space Shadows don't respect the Cast Shadow flag of materials, is this intended? Especially for grass, I find it ruins the illusion that the grass billboards and the ground are a uniform mass, instead it heiglights that it's just billboards on a flat surface.
I have noticed that the game appears to run about 10-20 fps worse than it did on 0.38 on near enough the same settings in WCUSA, which is not surprising given the graphical overhauls received. Though I have also noticed that when driving or moving the camera the scenery around you looks very stuttery and makes your game look like it is running 30 fps lower than the fps you are actually getting (in my case 130 on WCUSA in Vulkan and 90 fps in D3D12 either near or in the city). I used to just enable V-Sync on Vulkan and everything was fine and smooth, though that appears to no longer work near as well as it used too. I would record a video of it but it records at too low of a frame rate to get the point across. It usually happens more when lots of meshes are being rendered in your view (understandably), but it is drastically worse than 0.38. I have no idea if any of this is helpful or worth mentioning, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to mention. Spoiler: Graphic Settings Spoiler: Specs CPU: I7 14700KF GPU: RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB RAM: 32GB DDR5 4400 MT/s Windows 11 Home I also discovered a building with no collisions when crashing into a lamppost on WCUSA, I used the BeamNG.media screenshot method so the location should be tracible through the image.
I find that incredibly strange. I'm not lying about my game's performance; I suppose I can't prove it but that is how my game ran. The only times I had problems is particularly poorly optimized maps/car mods. I understand you can't keep supporting old hardware forever and if I was still using my old Intel laptop with UHD graphics it would be understandable that it's not gonna work. But I paid US$1500 for this laptop only 3 and a half years ago. If I'm being left in the dust, what are people with older or lower tier equipment supposed to do? I'm not asking the developers to support the lowest common denominator of Chromebook. But expecting players to buy brand new high tier PCs because of high fidelity clouds is, in my opinion, ridiculous. You may be onto something here. I'll boot up the game and see if that might be my problem.
