That's badass!!! Yep, it looks amazing! As for its handling, don't forget that it's based on the FCV Platform, which is also the basis for, arguably, the best NGRC car in the sim, the Vivace NGRC twins! (I say "arguably" because the Sunburst NGRC twins are equally as great now that that car has been remastered! ) --- Post updated --- Tbh, I love the white and yellow design for the Cali plates because it reminds me of the LA LAW intro, with the Bentley's trunk sealing shut after the sax, paving the way for the trumpets! But I absolutely agree with you on the classic black and yellow Cali plates, because we have plenty of 50s, 60s and 70s cars in BeamNG, both domestics and imports, that could use them for that extra bit of immersion! And they'd look good while doing it too!!
The Maine design is reminiscant of the 1988-2000 standard issue design too. Those were phased out long before I was old enough to start paying attention, but I still see them on rare occasion on vehicles that have been sitting for decades. It's cool seeing the devs take a bit of a historical path, while also making the plates their own!
I think the update is coming next week, so not much need for speculation at this point, but I'm guessing we're seeing the asphalt rally config (gravel rally in a separate pic) and either the race or hillclimb config. And I might be going crazy, but there are two different roll cage designs, specifically looking at the back half of the rollcage from the race config, two bars start wide and get narrow, and in the rally config, it's the opposite. Sunburst has two different cage designs, so I wouldn't be surprised. All of these race variants are running the same body kit, but there's a chance there will be maybe a custom widebody or something like the Bastion, Sunburst, and other cars have.
The Ardente with the red livery looks like it has the same wheels as the vivace hillclimb, so my guess would be that that config is the Ardente's hillclimb config (evidenced by my very amateur-ish side-by-side photo I made). As for the two rollcages, I don't think you're going crazy, I'm pretty sure I see it too. Either that or we're both going crazy. The Oilex livery Ardente may be the race config.
I think you're right about that being the hillclimb, as the race uses the PR02 wheels. The oilex is probably rally, though. Race tires don't have the sidewall markings (those are asphalt rally tires), and it has an antenna like a rally car as well.
Just went back and compared with the Vivace rally, and you're absolutely right. That is most likely the asphalt rally config
Someone mentioned that, I think on Reddit. But if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...It has a net, rally lights, a roof scoop, a real livery with sponsors, an antenna, and it's in the dirt with off-road tires. It has all the markings of a rally car, minus the second seat, so I'll just assume it was a developer oversight. I will say that front bumper/lip really doesn't look suited for off-roading. The Cherrier has a specific rally bumper and lip.
Just noticed something with the license plate of the yellow Sunburst at the far back: it's got a light-reflective surface! Am I the only one who noticed it?
...That's what retroreflective materials do: reflect light. They added this material property to road signs, but it looks like they added it to license plates as well, which is accurate, as plates do have a retroreflective material. Look at this IRL shot from a night drive video, and you can see how much the plates catch the light from the headlights
maybach --- Post updated --- i was uploading a video about every ardente leak, and i've ran into this. i think i have found the cherrier ardente's music maybe..?
I went down a bit of a rabbit hole, and cleanmindsounds seems to be a library for music, and listening to several of their tracks with future in the title (I couldn't find the one titled "the future"), it does sound like stuff the devs would use in their trailers. This library seems to focus on cinimatic trailer music anyways. Since you ran into that, It's possible that the devs have the trailer for the Ardente uploaded, but unlisted until release day. That may be why youtube is giving you that. I may be completley overthinking this, and looking too far into it, but the musician/music nerd in me was too curious not too.
