Eh, maybe a bit exaggerated, but not entirely wrong. We’ve still phased out the majority of our domestic sedans and wagons in favor of SUVs and crossovers. So have several foreign brands though, Mitsubishi comes to Mind in that case. We do still indeed have other stuff, my family’s got a Subaru Impreza FFS, but it’s a slow trend in many places. Not to mention the fact that things such as diesel F-350s are common here.
A lot compared to other countries, but the majority of the vehicles I see on the road are compact to midsize cars.
I guess it could also depend on region. Being from the northern part of the country where it snows a lot in the winter, I see a lot more large vehicles, which may be the case because of features like AWD and 4WD in snow.
Fist image is boston, second is montreal. Hug difference, though both places are gradually phasing out SUVs. Here in ontario the Corrolla Hatch is getting really popular. Wish there was mort unbiased stats on most sold vehicles across Canada and the USA. No way in hell do I believe the nissan rouge is the 7th best seller in Canada. I have seen 4 this week (1 of which was newer then 2020). wholly yap --- Post updated --- But they arn't new. I see a lot of new ones here
Exactly my point. I don’t live terribly far from Boston (few hours) and I see loads of suvs. When I see cars with Canadian plates which crossed over the border, it’s usually cars like Subaru hatchbacks or Nissan micras. Either way, off topic, let’s get back to speculation. Now that we’ve ruled out the 12th, I wanna say maybe the 23rd? 24th?
We have more disposable income and more high-earners. Those big trucks aren’t cheap. It’s definitely a status symbol for some people (to each their own). But we still have cars like the Fiat 500, Toyota Yaris, Mini Cooper, and Smart Cars stopped being sold in North America, not just the US. Y’all didn’t want those baby cars either
Income doesn’t matter if everyone finances their cars. Mini did alright here, yaris did really well. Yaris does well in the winter.
I’m gonna assume you’re just being facetious about American’s spending habits. It doesn’t matter only to the financially illiterate, but let’s not go down that road……how bout that Ardente y’all? Anyone think we’ll get something more aggressive than that race trim they showed?
They’re alright in the winter? Damn, we lwk had a COROLLA that got stuck in the snow here while we were carrying a snowblower. The mini countryman I know is at least still sold here. I don’t see them often but occasionally. It’s sorta connected to why French cars aren’t sold here anymore, because the ones we did get, save for maybe the Peugeot 505 were not great. I do like minis, but they’re not the most reliable car you can get. That crown goes to Toyota. I’m pretty sure Renault and Peugeot didn’t sell great here either. The LeCar had a habit of spontaneously combusting too.
Ours is great in the winter. So was our old 3rd gen pruis. Could get through 2 ft of snow on all seasons. Theres a reason we still use actual cars here, cuz most people buy what they need, not for status. Especially in the city or in quebec.
Objection: No. The D-Series being separated would be stupid because there's so many mods for the D-Series, and parts on the D-Series wouldn't be available on the Charro, vice versa. I think separating the vehicles because "people won't realise there's more!" is just dumb. If they don't look to see if there's more content it's just down to their own stupidity.
I think the seperation of the FCV is a bit more of a priority than the D-series and Charro in that way. This has been an argument before, but the Vivace and Tograc are arguably more different than the D-series and Charro, so it would make more sense. I don't think there should be terribly much more seperating, but the FCV and T/TC series makes total sense to me.
This button to move the front seat forward is a pretty neat detail to include, I wonder if there will be a vehicle trigger to activate it. Though the Ardente looks very much like a 2+2 rather than a usable 4-seater, so I imagine that button would get pushed accidentally more than anything if the car were real, lol. Probably about as much use as the mechanical lever that does the same function on my CR-Z.
