To be fair, it doesn't produce glossy images that people can look at, so I can understand why people overlook it. But yes, it is awesome. Maybe? I could see multiplayer happening before tire thermals (as crazy as that sounds), since there's been at least two examples of it being able to work. But I still feel like multiplayer is at least two years away.
I don't think multiplayer is nearly as far away as some of y'all think. I don't think they want to leave PS5 players on an island for that long; they might not have mods, and they definitely won't have beamMP. I think multiplayer comes out this year with "join and host online free roam and races". Bare-bones stuff, then they will build on that foundation as they go. They have to send it live to actually work on things and see where the shortcomings are and what the community really wants.
While i know Multiplayer will make beam much more common, And liked, I still would need there to be single player, Some days i just wanna drive and do my own thing, somedays is 99% of the time BUT i still can not wait for Multiplayer, It will help beam grow
Why would they announce it then? It probably won’t come in 0.39, but may come in 0.40 or with tire thermals in one of the updates.
When multiplayer releases this is going to be the ultimate chill game for me and a few friends man i've dreamt of this being an official feature.
If a dev is reading this, can I ask a question. Will you start using the dayTime and nightTime parking spot tags for parked cars? Since people will start playing with the day night cycle, and it doesn't make sense for a strip mall to have customers at 1 AM. Also, can you make it so you can tag a specific config? So only that config can spawn in the spot (If one is in traffic) Please use the content you made, waste of a cool feature for you not to use.
You're probably right - I think I'm just remembering the announcement of a delay for tire thermals at the end of the 0.27 devblog: Come to think of it, there was no mention of tire thermals in the new horizon devblog. I guess that's still in major development.
That's not a thing for PlayStation players, and neither is typing, so we have to consider whatever they'll do to allow comms for console players, we'll also get it on the PC version. @DriftinCovet1987 There are no current dates for any tire improvements, and Stenyak or another dev said to expect the earliest improvements to come next year, but even that isn't guaranteed.
I know you can text with a keyboard on xbox so thats crazy to me if playstation doesn't let you. Maybe itll just be a regular, whoevers in the same game has coms, type of system who knows idk.
There's a big difference between letting a PS5 player connect a USB keyboard and type if they want, and forcing them to. The default communication has to be voice chat, or nothing at all.
Considering that many vehicles that did not receive a refresh were shown in some teasers/leaks, will those said vehicles receive a minor content update or another refresh alongside everything else?
discord is on the ps5 and you can use the trackpad or d pad to type with the on screen keyboard don't really know how you got to that conclusion
Fair enough; didn't know PS5 had Discord. I still think the game should have its own built-in chat, be able to add people to a friends list, and talk to them without having to take the extra step with a third-party app like Discord.
i can def see a text chat system being in the game maybe voice chat too but def not proxy chat i feel like that would not really work for a game like beam --- Post updated --- although it would be cool if it had like a working cb radio like in American truck sim but i doubt that would happen
I feel like the game needs wider Controller support, because as of now, the game has very little controller support, and Steam's homepage for the game specifically discloses that the game has limited support. The game needs it before or when Beam comes to PlayStation. Not too many people want to connect a K&M to their living room console. On top of that but also unrelated, downloading Forum-only, Paid (Patreon/Gumroad etc), and Third-party website mods may also be a challenge for PlayStation users, because as far as I know, there's no way to download files off of a web browser and place them in the game's "mods" folder. However I don't own a PlayStation, and I will stand corrected if there's a way to do this.
Perhaps the vehicles that might've been left out of a refresh or remaster will finally get the attention they deserve next update.
