Want to point out that when the video starts, the graphics aren't maxed out. I don't know if these settings changed when the scene presets are applied, but these are the settings at the beginning. I have noticed in other teasers that sometimes the clouds look sharper than other times. The heavy depth-of-field effect they always use plays a role, but I think we'll be able to adjust cloud quality for optimization.
Looks like were getting close, but I'd say we either have a couple of weeks to the beginning of next month before it drops.
Ayoooo. It's almost the final countdown Edit: The important thing is they most likely have an internal, target release date for .39. Let's hope they can stick to it.
Tdev says the update is “not many weeks left”, which I guess is safe to say that @DriftinCovet1987’s August 3rd release theory/prediction isn’t happening…
To be fair, it wasn't my theory - I just expanded on it and gave more examples. Also, four still isn't that many weeks, in context - it's been 205 days (a little over 29 weeks) since 0.38 released. I previously had guessed the 8th of July before Stenyak made this post I linked here, saying that he expects a lot of drama on the 12th. It feels like every time I make a post about when an update could come out, the devs are like, "Hmmm...let's do a little trolling." It wouldn't be the first time that's happened. (Yes, Tdev did post a "Final Countdown" short while I was typing a long doompost. I've no idea how he knew that - did the devs put cameras in my walls?)
I have mixed opinions about the upcoming workbench At first it seems it will be so fun to mess around with; But then it comes to mind that it may create a wave of low-effort mods coming to the Repo, like what's happening with MapNG... I hope every workbench modification has some sort of deep filtering system, that would put it in another repository type, like Automation mods. Or the moderators create some type of Verification system, or the mod must disclose that is has been created with the workbench, or prove that it hasn't.
I remember a number of pages back, on the first day that we got the “something new is on the horizon” teasers, I predicted that the update would drop within the same timeframe as 0.29 did (4th July 2023), and I’m glad to see that apparently I may not have been as far off as I started to think. I figured that a delay would likely push it back to a previous release date to at least keep some order. tbh, I don’t think it will be EXACTLY in the 0.29 timeframe as tomorrow is the 4th (3 years since 0.29, wow that’s crazy to me lol), but maybe next week or the week after? Anyways, I’m glad I wasn’t too far off it seems. btw did Tdev post like an ACTUAL final countdown yet? Bc that could change a lot.
Woek bench? What does that entail ? I have seem to missesd it LOL EDIT never mind saw it Anyway OT, I think anywhere mid july to very early SEP, SEP is if the devs run into a massive delay

You know, the more I see of this update the more excited I get. I knew it was going to be big, but what the devs have shown off so far looks bigger than whatever I was expecting. This will definitely be one of the updates of all time.
I'm more late to this then a school bus on a Canadian winter morning, but oh my god this is gonna be the most beautiful game in the world after this update.
