Some time ago I made a joke car in Automation that was basically a very goofy car, the type you might remember seeing in cartoons from your childhood, with exaggerated proportions, nonsensical performance, and other wacky specifications, all while getting humanized in the form of the lights and grille forming a face. These cartoons naturally aren't specifically about cars most of the time, and they'll have major inaccuracies ranging from simply having outdated technology to just being completely wrong. I sought to make/represent all of that as best as I could with this non-serious creation of mine, which I call the "Cartoon Racer".

I went with the most wacky body I could find, which ended up being the one resembling the Shelby Cobra, mainly because the body morphing on it allowed for the exaggerated proportions I was going for.
The color? Red. Bright red. The kind of red that burns itself into your retinae if you stare at it too long. The race car color. Then just finish it off with comically blue windows, and everything else can be steel, because any other material is too advanced for children to grasp.
Fixtures were dead simple: make a face with lights and a smiley grille up front (plus a bonus nose), add a frankly ridiculous wing on the rear, and finish it off with basic circular taillights and huge exhausts.
Now for the fun part, the engine. TEN LITRE V8 MOTOR. 610 cubic inches for the imperial system users. And of course, it has to stick out of the hood and block a good portion of your vision, thanks to some big ol' carbs. What I got out of it in Automation was 680 horsepower and about 840 Nm of torque. In the BeamNG export though, I added some good old nitro to boost the horsepower to over 1300. I don't know how good my tuning and mild jbeam modifications were, but I tried to make it so that prolonged usage would result in it spontaneously combusting. Naturally it spits out smoke like a diesel engine, and also has lots of backfire to boot (though I think that's more of a 2000s tuner culture thing... oh well).
The rest of the drivetrain is a 5-speed manual gearbox...and an open differential. Remember, almost 700 horsepower, rear-wheel-drive, no traction aids (beyond ABS, for the sake of everyone's sanity).
Everything else was dead simple, the worst or most basic components, the rest was just tuning.

I've yapped enough, it's time for some pictures.

A few more things to note:
    • Drivability is... questionable. As long as you don't go too hard on the inputs, it should be tolerable to drive, but anything extreme and it will start doing funny things. As a general rule of thumb, try not to turn above 100 km/h (60 mph), it is very likely you will flip.
    • The straight-line performance is actually quite impressive if you ignore everything else. Acceleration is quite fast both with and without nitro, and its top speed is around 570 km/h (around 355 mph), at which point it starts doing funny things. With nitro, you can get it to slightly lift the front wheels upon launching from a standstill.
    • I actually mainly made this thing as a "digital punching bag" to destroy. The body crumbles like paper and the wheels pop off super easily even on very light impacts, and it's overall a lot of fun to smash it up. I hate to perpetuate the "BeamNG is a crashing simulator" myth, but unfortunately this is what you're getting for now. (don't worry, I have a lot of other (serious) cars made in Automation, with an entire lore universe going on and all that, but due to the sheer quantity it takes a long while to do anything with them. They'll come out eventually... hopefully.)
    • I'm not putting this nor any of my other (upcoming) creations on the repository, as I do not believe they meet the quality standards that are expected there. Everything I make will almost certainly end up on the forums in a similar thread to this one, as all I can really do is pump out vehicular slop like this and I don't want to flood the place where the majority of players get actually good mods from.
In any case, I hope you enjoy this wacky little thing I made.
