I hope, considering that it's an 80s Crown Victoria quick update: nevermind, there's an answer from someone
Hum .. a station wagon based on the Buick Estate Wagon could be great ! If you decide to make one don't forget the wood panels on the side of it ! Also , I don't know if it's planned but several engines could be cool , like a V6 305 , V8 350 ans another massive underpowered V8 for the top of the line trims . Transmissions would be a 3 speed auto only as I don't ever think gm would've put any manual transmission in the Caprice / Impala etc ( correct me if I'm wrong it's right before my time lol ) Suspension needs to be bouncy , steering over assisted. Burnside version would be based on the Cadillac Fleetwood of the same years , adding a shit ton of chrome and leather interior . Speaking of which, another collab for the interior ? If you liked what I did to the Wakefield, let me know !
I could really use help on the interior, that would be great! Burnside version will be a mix of the Continental and Deville
I can't speak to the things General Motors was making, but Ford put a 4-speed automatic in all their panther platform cars. Didn't matter what year it was or if it was the LTD Crown Victoria, the Mercury Grand Marquis, the Lincoln Continental Mark VI, or the Lincoln Town Car, they all got the same transmission.
In the 90s and early 2000s , yes , I agree . But we are talking about American cars in the 80s right now , those are based from 79 to like 85 . 4 speed auto were not a thing, 3 speed auto was common back then
according to wikipedia: The transmissions used between 1979-1982 were the 3 speed ford C6 automatic while the lincoln panther car used the new 4 speed AOD, after 1982, so 83-91 they used the 4 speed AOD
The Ford AOD transmission was a 4-speed automatic introduced in 1980, it's what the panther platform Fords used. I was incorrect in saying that it didn't matter what year as apparently the Fords and Mercurys didn't get it until 1983, unlike the Lincolns which did get it in right away in 1980. Except for the first few years of select models, this 4 speed automatic was the only available transmission on Ford's offerings in the full size car segment during the 80s.
if the burnside version will happen, will it look like the town car, continental mark vi, or the grand marquis/marquis --- Post updated --- will it have a police package 5.5 with like 190hp?
A fullsize boxy sedan from the 80s? COUNT ME IN!!! Beam really lacks a proper ladder frame 80s sedan. Sure theres the box caprice but thats an old mod, and its not really lore friendly. I will watch this mod progress with great interest.
Beamng needs more of these. Also I know it's gonna be a great mod because this is the same author who made the Wakefield!
Here's a suggestion: inefficient and slow diesel V8 like the LF9 Oldsmobile diesel. I think it would be a fun addition.
How dare you attempt to defile the sanctity and dignity of the Panther body by suggesting an awful diesel V8 be added to this mod. Crash, you should totally do that. It'll be funny.
