That drive mode just does what it says to all the ladies in the perimeter around your flashy supercar.
The last March update we had (0.22) was in 2021, and even then, that was on the 29th. The last March update before that (0.5.3, 11 March) was during the frequent update period of 0.4-0.8, so that shouldn't count, IMO. Since 0.8 (December 2016, nine years ago), the spring updates have released on the following dates: -0.9: 14 April -0.12: 3 April -0.16: 3 May (delayed for a month due to Nvidia driver bugs) -0.19: 8 April -0.22: 29 March -0.25: (skipped) -0.28: 4 April -0.32: 16 April -0.35: 2 April So, we could be seeing it in early-mid April - I doubt that the spring update will be skipped this year.
I think version 0.25 didn't come out earlier because in December 2021 we got two updates in one month.
That may have been a contributing factor, but we also got two December updates in 2015 and 2019, and that didn't prevent the devs from releasing spring updates. The bigger factor in 0.25's delay was the Scintilla itself - from the 0.25 devblog: Also, 2021 didn't have a fall update - 0.23 released in June, while 0.24/0.24.1 released in December. So, there were two big release gaps in the span of a year, which likely didn't help 0.24's success. 0.24 had a lower peak player count increase (679) than 0.35 (756), despite having three remasters, a remastered map, and a new car. This is despite 0.24 releasing after the third-most-popular update ever (0.23), while 0.35 released after the least-popular winter update in the past four years (0.34). I can definitely see why the fall updates have been a yearly occurrence since 2022 - having that in-between update to keep interest up has bolstered the player counts quite effectively.
If we get the update in the middle or late April, it will be only six to seven weeks before the update.I think we can get a teaser every week during this period, and developers can release many different types of teasers just by focusing on the content of new car.
Actually, we got our first teaser fairly late compared to 0.35 (11 Feb vs. 24 Feb). It was only a few days before 0.32's first teaser (27 Feb) and 0.28's first two teasers post-0.27 (28 Feb). 0.22's first teaser came out on 8 Feb, and it dropped 29 March. So, I doubt that 0.39 will drop late-March. Early-April is possible, since 0.28 and 0.35 both dropped in the first week of April. But I wouldn't be surprised if this update came out mid-April.
Just want to say this is the first new CAR I'll get to experience since I got the game. Downloaded Beam right before the BX remaster, so I've gotten some remasters, MD series, The Nine (which IS a new car, but it's halfway to a horse-drawn carriage in my eyes), and the heavy machinery. I like them all, but I've never experienced a new, modern, ground-up car. And it looks to be a banger. It's funny to me that as the game was progressing, y'all were getting teasers and getting excited for cars like the Landsdale or the Legran or something. I'm glad every car in Beam exists, but the thought cracks me up.
the sixth or the seventh of april is the average not including the delayed and skipped updates. --- Post updated --- with that being said this average isnt that helpful as data shows more often then not its either early april (2 to 4) or mid (13 to 16)
The first "new" car I experienced was the Burnside (30 December 2015) - the first properly new car I got to drive was the 800 Series (9 Feb 2016). And yes, we were all quite excited for just about every new car to drop - including the LeGran (even though back then, it had been rushed out the door with barely any content). What really got many of us excited was the Hopper - this thread had to be locked at least once prior to 0.9's release, because people wanted it so much. And this was back when BeamNG was still quite niche, with barely 2,000 concurrent players and maybe ~500K sold copies. If the devs ever decided to tease a modern pickup truck, I wouldn't be surprised if all their socials were to get flooded by hype posts. I mean...the first Scintilla teaser was posted a month earlier than the first teaser for the new car (18 Jan), and it's arguably more revealing. Despite this, 0.25 was pushed back to June 15 - making it the latest first update in BeamNG history since 0.3.1 (22 June 2014). And before that, the FCV got a teaser at the end of 0.18.3 (19 Dec 2019) and a whole devblog revealing what it would look like (11 Feb 2020). But 0.19 still came out 8 April 2020 - a fairly average date for a spring update. I don't think how revealing the teasers are is a reliable indication of when the update will come out - 0.34 and 0.38 both came out 10 Dec of their years, and 0.38's first few teasers were way less revealing than 0.34's first teaser. Many of us (including myself) thought at first that the WL-40 and HT-55 were large props. To be fair, the first 0.39 teaser was more revealing than most of the 0.35 teasers (the Sunburst wasn't confirmed as the remastered car until 27 March) and the first 0.32 teaser (which was revealed to be the BX on 26 March).
At least its nice the devs are not giving us hard to understand shitposts lmao (love them, but damn id have a better chance of learning Mandarin in a day then to understand them)
Yes, but that's not the point - the point is that (in his opinion) it should be standard for the Hopper and SBR to be traffic vehicles. And honestly, I agree. (And it's also already planned, at least for the Hopper and MD-Series. I wouldn't be surprised if the SBR also gets added at some point.) You have to remember that 0.17 (the update that added traffic) was the first update since 0.11 to increase the overall peak player count. It wasn't the bus mode (0.12), the Automation loader (0.13), Light Runner (0.14), Italy and the Piccolina (0.15), or even the eSBR (0.16). 0.17 started a near-unbroken series of updates for the past seven years that have increased the peak player count from 5,000 to almost 40,000. (Granted, much of that's down to Steam doing a storefront update in October 2019, which made the game more visible, but the traffic would've helped with that.) It's made having multiple cars in Beam far easier and more fun. Even something as simple as the delivery robot adds a lot to the game when it's part of traffic. I completely understand why CrashHaven's so obsessed with wanting it to have more content. Speaking of traffic, I wonder if this new car will have a simplified version. It might be a bit too high-end for that, but we'll see.
Tbh I cant imagine BeamNG withOUT traffic. I play with traffic daily. Anyways, I don't think there won't be any mod approvals today. (Usually between 9-11 AM GMT+1, so Germany time) I take that as a sign, I guess? ---------- EDIT: nvm
