This is the original version, (VW Badged) But the original owners (Vertex & Mrx) decided to also make an AW badged version for the Repo. So, long story short, nobody stole anyhthing, it was made by the same creators. (At least this is what I think. I've been on this thread for about 5 years now, so I'm pretty sure this is how it went.. ) Hope this helps!
When looking at the bug, something seems to be a bit off, and I'm pretty sure that its actually a mix of three things. First, the tires should be much more skinny, VWs were always known for their thin tires. Second, it sits a little low, and third, the tire seems to tuck too snug into the fender. The original one seemed to not have this issue.
I think i MIGHT be speaking for everyone here (i am capslocking might because people might not be thinking this but here i am) what is the next update going to bring (if there is any new updates going to happen)
Personally, I don't think there will be more updates. Although, I would like proper suspension and tyre geometries.
Swing axle Suspension (beta test) I was digging through the mod files and found this file called "bug.suspension-R-swing.jbeam". After analyzing and editing it a bit, I got it loaded by the game and available in the parts selector. I edited it slightly, since the original was a little low and crooked to the sides. This is just a test and my intention is only to try to make the mod a little more realistic. Anyone who wants to help me with tips on how to configure this correctly, please help (I'm very new to this and was just testing the lines in the file), and also help me make it work as a regular zipped mod. I also edited the "bug.suspension-R.parts" file to add specific torsion bars for this swing axle suspension. I'm also working on a softer and slightly higher front suspension, as well as moving the wheel a little further in, like in the old version of the mod, but this is still being tested (and it's still in bad shape, which is why I didn't post it with this one). How to install? 1. Copy the two files 2. Open the mod's rar file and go to: [vehicles\bug\components\frame] 3. Paste the two files and let it replace the originals (for goodness sake, make a backup of the two original files in case it goes wrong) Sorry for this unintuitive method, I couldn't get it to work as a separate mod. If anyone can do this or help me do this, I would be very grateful! Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening. (Google Translater used)
T Thats very cool but the rear one does not work, it does show up and you can sellect it but beam will just return to the previously selected. Are you sure you attached the right files?
Thanks for the feedback. That is really strange, because for me it worked perfectly. Can you show an screenshot of the issue, please? I will try to fix that tomorrow when i turn on my pc. Edit: have you tried with the mod unpacked?
The car models aren't appearing on my screen, just the wheels, liscense plate, and part of the dashboard. Is there something else I should be doing after downloading the mod? Some kind of addition that also needs to be added?
wait can you send me the original version? i need it for my 0.17 version on my laptop --- Post updated --- very cool. could you add it in the next update as a feature and not a mod?
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to find this. It's very work-in-progress and I've deliberately left it in to be discovered. I'm not happy how it works yet. If anyone is willing to improve it and make it working properly, I'm happy to make the mesh and include it in an update. These are a bit to modern example for a 1963 Beetle and I'm not sure it fits. Can you elaborate on this? The main reason here is that the Beetle is using tires which are available by default in BeamNG. The tires of the original mod where discarded because the mesh was way to detailed and looked terrible in BeamNG. More skinny wheels exist, but it's only a few and with this, there are a lot more tire options directly available in the parts selector without changing multiple parts. (Side note, this mod allows to fit almost all tires and wheels in BeamNG.) While it's a 1963 Beetle, it's not trying to be one down to every bolt. Some decisions where made for gameplay and artistic purposes. (Also it's very hard and time consuming to make all details accurate) However, I'd love to see add-ons for various parts and details someone might create. Also nothing new in the pipeline yet, give me some reset after 4 years of continues work on this mod. More will come however.
You do deserve a rest, mate. I'm a Volkswagen person myself and I'm just happy to see a little beetle on the repo.
