IMO, a 16GB card should be fine.

I have a 64GB microSD card that I could use (comes with a microSD to SD adapter).

Decent 2A+ 5v supply (android tablet chargers should suffice)
Class 10 PNY microSD in largest capacity available with remaining budget

I haven't tested this so it may be total bs but im fairly sure you will be limited by the raspberry pi's sd read/writes before you hit the read/writes of expensive cards.

Oh, and im back, went to wales for the Swansea applicant day, really like the uni, really like the location but the course wasn't really what i was looking for. But i had a nice pizza in mumbles so all is good. Also got to see family down there too which was cool.

I have 3 Pi's, and you won't get the read/writes of high end cards. If you want high speed, go USB. Buy an 8 GB SD card and a 64 GB flash drive.

I have the fancy of building a rather stupid, unnecessary, completely over-the-top, expensive, unneeded, Pentium Extreme Edition gaming rig.

OR... OR... Go on Ebay, find a couple Radeon HD 7990s and Crossfire them with an 800 watt PSU.

It's going to cost about the same.

    Re: General discussion chat

The 7990 has a 375W TDP. Two of them will need 750W for the cards alone, add ~200W for CPU, chipset etc and you get 950W. You would need a 1200W PSU at least 80+ gold certified.

Besides, there's no reason to buy a 7990, let alone two of them. It's a behemoth of a card that ditches any trace of efficiency found in the 7970 for raw power, but inefficient raw power isn't the best way to go. A 7990 will get outperformed by dual GTX 960s, three 970s should very easily outrun two 7990s while having a combined TDP of just 435W.

    I wouldn't want a P4 extreme because ew netbust.

But for some reason I love the i7-990X. I'd really like to build a PC with one of those and a GTX 295. If I ever have a lot of money to spend I might actually do it.

I want that M6500 my computer teacher at school has. Fully decked out, use it every day at school pretty much. Can't really have it unless I buy it or something. :(
