Meet the Hirochi WL-40, a large wheel loader designed for carrying rocks, marble blocks, logs (and buses) that pairs well with it's HT-55 cousin. Featuring hydraulic articulated joystick steering, only a pivoting rear axle with no suspension and a simulated rimpull pedal, it offers a unique driving and operational experience.

A dedicated instructional how-to video is coming soon!

I absolutely love this colossal creature so much - thank you for making this. Instantly one of my favorite vehicles in the game. Love that it has articulated steering, as well.

However, will the start/finish line overhead boards for time trials be adjusted in height to allow for this (and the HT-55) to be raced? I understand that's not their primary purpose, but it would be fun to autocross them. (The ETK procedural tracks have already had their gates expanded once to allow for larger vehicles.)

Also, I think it's a bit odd that only the huge Hirochis are in their own section between the vehicles and props - if they're going to be given a new section, then arguably, the Wydra/Aurata could also be given a new "ATVs" section (and maybe also a "Bus/Limo" section for the Wentwards and GM limo).

My only issue with this beast is that under AI control it's worthless, the AI tries but apparently can't cope with the articulated nature of the WL-40 and either just runs it into stuff or gets it stuck. Makes it difficult to set up accidents unless I ride the controls with my keyboard .

The plan might be to expand the section in the future with other industrial vehicles, like farming equipment, an Articulated Dump Truck, or even a tracked bulldozer. Otherwise, yes, I agree that it would be a bit weird to put them in a new default section.

Is ist possibile that we get a version with a steering wheel? Cause I think all of my fellow Wheel users can agree, that it is a pain in the ass to drive that thing. Otherwise it is a great Mod and I would love to see more of these!

The only thing I am struggling with the Hirochi WL40 is the steering and how its a non return to centre steering system!

The 40 in WL-40 is just... a thing. It was intended to kinda be relevant to it's tonnage but the value advertised for wheel loaders like this is breakout force which is around 20 to 25 tons in line with similar sized loaders, which also changes depending on configuration. So the name means Wheel-Loader-40-whatever-you-make-of-it

For anyone struggling with operation, a dedicated how-to video for the WL-40 and the HT-55 that covers operation, loading & unloading and more is coming soon! Meanwhile, you can also refer to real life operator manuals or instructional videos which apply fairly closely to what we have going on here.

The WL-40 is a source of endless amusement and I'm really impressed by the fact that it has the Gavril 1100CUI V8 from the T-Series, a vehicle that weighs about 1/3 (or even 1/4, in some cases) as much. But hey, that's what low gearing is for!

I found nothing in need of correction for the new vehicles, but I have a few questions about the WL-40.

    1) What does the "40" in its name stand for? The weight in tons it can carry? I mean, I see the HT-55 being a 55-ton Haul Truck and this is my conclusion.
    2) What key bindings are there for opening/closing the forks of the log grappler and for activating/deactivating the rimpull? The respective switches and pedals may be easy to find, but I can't seem to be able to find any key bindings. Not only that, but the key bindings diagram on the top right corner of the screen doesn't help either, it just says "AUX" (and it's really useful in any other case I happened to consult it).
    3) Although I like this fact very much, I can't help but wonder: why does it have the Gavril 1100CUI V8 instead of the Hirochi 20.4 I6? I mean, from a point onwards (2000 - 2007), both the HT-55 and the WL-40 were produced in the same time period.

edit: I found the key bindings. It's Space Bar for the rimpull and Shift + G/T for opening and closing the forks of the log grappler!

the Hirochi WL-40 is awesome, however the AI path Scripting does not work at all with it. It just drives all over the place chaotically. Hopefully a near feature hotfix.

Can I ask, what vehicle did you base the WL40 off anyway, because we need some more attachments for it in the future, if and when your able to model them in that is
