Update Speculation thread

Source? You can't be saying stuff like this without providing some form of proof.

 

One interesting thing I've discovered about the WL-40 is that it has separate wiper parts. They're not animated (yet), but they might become animated in the future. Animated wipers are one of the more common feature requests, and we have had multiple instances of features being added to a new/remastered vehicle, then to the whole fleet. (Examples include: Covet with opening doors, animated shifters, and odometers; T-Series with mirrors; 800 Series with navigation.) So...it's possible, but probably won't be happening for a while. (The HT-55 doesn't have a separate wiper (but it is modeled), and the I-Series has had separate headlight wipers for almost 10 years, yet they haven't ever been animated.)

So... let's think about this.

I think the hotfixes might add a few more bits and bobs for the HT-55 and WL-40. I can see additional buckets and attachments for the latter filtering out, and it does feel like a dust-suppression water tank for the HT-55 is a very strong possibility.

So, a bit like how the Hopper had several content-adding hotfixes after its release? That might happen, tbh. Honestly, I feel like there's still a lot more mileage that could be gotten out of the WL-40 - various bucket types (such as hot slag or wood chip), more grabbers, rakes, snow blades, and even rail car couplers, among others. I doubt we'll get a fully exhaustive list of attachments, but let's just say that the WL-40 could end up being a "big D-Series/Stambecco/Hopper" in terms of versatility.

I don't know how much more the HT-55 could get, though - maybe a water tank or a big trailer, like the 770G has in Snowrunner, but that's about it. Honestly, I don't think it really needs much more - I'm fine with it being a single- or dual-purpose machine. Most of the trucks have so many bodies, upfits, and/or frames already.

 

I like the idea of the water tank and big trailer.

 

There is a config without a dump bed so I suspect it is open for new official stuff like the T-series or mods

Also the config's descriptions does says it was made for custom upfits so I feel we might get some more in a future update down the line.

 

I’m surprised they didn't add some of the stuff mentioned, like updates to the bus, and simplified traffic. I assume that will come in a hotfix or 0.39
