I'm sharing some progress on an airship mod I've been making recently. It has a helium-filled hull and floats in air using the game's native buoyancy support. As far as I know, this is the first LTA (lighter-than-air) vehicle for BeamNG. Basic features are inspired by existing modern airships: - semi-rigid airship architecture consisting of a gas envelope with an internal frame to hold it in shape - a gondola/cabin which holds 2 flight crew, 14 passengers, and includes a lavatory - 3 gasoline engines, 200 hp each, powering vectoring and variable pitch propellers which allow hovering in place, taking off vertically, and flying backwards Progress (09/2025) The mod is still early in development. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions, ideas, or suggestions. At some point I'll probably release it to a limited number of people for testing, and later do a full release. If you've flown an airship in real life or another flight simulator and are interested in testing, let's talk
Bro watttttttt!!!!!! Never thought I’d ever see this in beamNG --- Post updated --- Same this wud be sick
The Hindenburg is a very interesting airship. You can find photos online of the interior and it's kind of like a hotel. It also uses hydrogen instead of helium as the lift gas, which is part of the reason for the famous disaster. --- Post updated --- I'll share new updates when there's more progress, and maybe make the Hindenburg as its own separate mod if there's enough interest
