looking forward to this project as Im from this part of the world and would love to have similar playable terrain in beam the Namibian deserts especially
Hey, you are actually the first one to write who comes from the area.. Most parts of the map are finished but there is still a lot of polishing and optimizing work to be done, I probably need a few more months to finish this properly. You can follow the progress here on the forum or on the project´s discord channel.
Hi, I am working on it and I hope so but I can´t guarantee it. Since I am doing this alone in my free time its of course taking its time but I try to do everything properly and don´t have unfinished things left on release.
I really value the commitment to quality you have here. In my experience, it's always worth the time. Looking forward to driving it!
Hi, actually yes, there is a lot of stuff that I haven´t posted here on the forum. There is more stuff on my discord. Release date is honestly hard to tell. I hope to be able to release the map this winter, given that no unsolvable technical problems occur (which I hope it doesn´t). There is moslty optimizing and finishing work to be done. Still there are some things on my mind which I am not sure wether I should include them in the map or not. For example: missions. Although I´d like to have some missions on this map, they are a lot of work and would postpone the release date quite a bit. I did a small survey a few months ago about what people like to do in Beam and what not and it showed that only a very small number of people are even interested in missions. Thats why I figured out I should focus more on different areas that are more important to the majority of players (which is mostly map-environment related). So if I skip the missions and finish the map as it is, I hope that I can release it this winter. I can´t guarantee that its going to be still 2025 since I got many things to do not BeamNG related that take up most of my time but of course I try to do it asap (not starting any other projects before this is finished ) As for the teasers, here are some more impressions of the map:
