Quick update. I have gotten this to work and have 24 seats now by editing the RLS seat references.

I am going to drop Raceless a message now and see if he is happy to add it to the next update.

 

I've spent a couple of hours playing with this on RLS career and it's perfect for taxi work. It's small and nimble, but with a 24 seat capacity you can take a lot of tourists, business and party passengers, so it can make really good money.

I have only found two issues. It is extremely expensive due to how RLS calculates vehicle values. Some of the parts, like the mirrors, cost over 11,000 each. It means the Vanbus costs over 250,000 which is more than a full size MD series school bus. They could do with a rework to make it more realistic.

Secondly I've noticed a major wheel wobble between 50 and 60mph.

 

I have also noticed the wheel wobble makes it undriveable at speeds you mention with a force-feedback wheel

Hey! Nice mod, I like it very much. Just wanted to ask if there're any plans on making it more compatible with RLS Career Overhaul. It's kinda disappointing to see less seats than in my vanilla van(

 

Did you ever get a response from Raceless about updating the seat numbers?
If not, could you tell me what exactly to edit to get 24 seats? I've looked in just about every .jbeam and .json file for this mod, but can't seem to find it, but maybe I'm just dumb/blind... Google just says to "edit the main .jbeam" but I don't see a clear "main" one for this mod.

I own a bus almost exactly like this one IRL (a 1992 Chevy G30) that I'm converting into a Skoolie ("tiny house"). I thought it'd be neat to recreate it in RLS and use it for taxi work, since it obviously can't haul cargo/trailers or win any drag races lmao. So was a bit disappointing to only see 6 seats in the taxi app in RLS

Nevermind! After playing around with the RLS taxi.lua file, I finally figured out how to add 24 seats to the bus.

 

Sorry for the possibly noobish question but, can I use this with the vanilla bus routes? In Free Roam it says "Own or provided vehicle" when standing on the starting point, but when I start a route it defaults to the DT40L.

 

a few updates ago i recall it not popping up since it was under the H-Series, and not in the vehicle selector as a standalone bus. so it might need to get updated and then split in the vehicle selector to work

 

Yes you can, but I think in the latest RLS version you need to be level 20 or so to use your own vehicles now. I know you could do it before then because I used to do it.

 

They weren't talking about RLS, they were talking about the vanilla bus route mode.
