I fixed it by copying the buildings folder from ECA and overwriting the existing files. Then the windows were fixed as well, but they weren't reflecting anything. Then I figured out it was because it was trying to use a cubemap, so I set the reflection mode from cubemap to world
The problem with this is that it will break some other textures on the map and will make duplicates. Also it should be set to cubemap
This is amazing that I just stumbled across this. So let me get this straight.. This map is pre-loaded with all vanilla assets and its already flat?! Godsend Can I ask which paintable terrains are included? My biggest issue has always been importing terrains
It has almost all of the vanilla assets + some that I made. There quite a bit of terrains added already (around 15 i think). I also update it from time to time, but you have to update it manually from the files I provide if you're already working on it. You can message me if you have any issues.
It did break other textures, so I went back to the backed up version, and the issue fixed itself. The buildings are now textured correctly, and the other textures it broke are no longer broken. Although there is one texture that is still broken, a concrete curb texture which I happened to use. I have no idea why it broke though, it desn't seem to be related to the ones I had issues with at all
infinite loading- any fix ? followed your Youtube tutorial with every step. EDIT: put the unpacked map folder in the 0.36 - levels folder instead of unpacked, fixed it for me
If it's not loading with it being in the unpacked folder, there must be something wrong somewhere. Have you tried redoing it again?
Hi, I updated this, added new houses, buildings. If you're already working a map, use this to update it. Move the files to the correct folders. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MQmbFIIWhJW-5TQrv7f0vksT76v9xbKb/view?usp=sharing
Thank you very much for this, is it possible to take this map of 4096x4096 up to 8.192 km × 8.192 km (≈ 67.1 km²)
You're welcome! . Unfortunately, BeamNG only support terrain sizes up to 4096x4096, it is possible to make a 8192x8192, BUT you shouldn't as it might break stuff.
Pity, are you sure you cannot make it 8192 x 8192 anyways - crashes i'm used to. https://imgur.com/a/wq3Lat5 The base map (without the updates is perfect) I just want to create long flowy freeway to drive on, and it end up in a loop to where I started.
These template maps are great and ideal for new map builders, but what stops me from using them is that the terrain is so blocky compared to other maps I have modified. Is there any way to fix this?
From all I know, it's not recommended to do that. I think you could do it and reduce the terrain resolution, which will make it look worse, pretty sure that's how some of the big maps on the repo are made, but again, I haven't really looked into that. --- Post updated --- Are you talking about the texture painter making big squares? Generally the bigger the terrain size is, the less detail (resolution) the terrain has, which causes it to paint only in big pretty big squares. Now I know the 1024x1024 and 2048x2048 should be more detailed than the 4096x4096, but right know they all have the resolution of the 4096 map. I might fix that at some point, now sure.
Just copy over the files from the "levels" folder from the game to the maps "levels" folder after that you zip the map, either in the mods menu in the game or the folder manually.
Alright, here's how I always do it. Back up both the levels folder and your map folder before doing anything!! Go to your game folder (it's now named "current" after the new update) 1. Go to the "levels" folder in the game's folder, inside the levels folder, select the folder file, click CTRL+X to cut 2. Go to the unpacked folder where your map is, go into [your_map] > levels > (paste here), do CTRL+V and replace files 3. Load onto the map and check if everything is correct
