I looked it up, and interestingly, brake calipers can also glow as they heat up. Normally you hear people mentioning the disc, but not the caliper glowing, mostly because it is much rarer of an occurrence.

I'm not so sure about that. It can survive another year and then we can talk about remastering it.

I think 0.37 prob won't have anything major in it but possibly something major in 0.38 who knows?

    so far possible things are:
    hamster wheel prop
    centrifuigal separator thing prop
(likely other props getting remastered/added too)
gavril grand marshal (maybe a limo or something)
    brake glow (best guess)

Are we sure that it is Brake Glow? It could be that the devs edited the sunsky position in the world editor where it hits the brake disk causing the glowing effect.

"Your brake lights are jealous now".
What if the brake lights on our hypothetical Bastion is jealous that the Bastion behind us braked in time due to the lighter weight the two-door version provided?

That is true - however, 0.32 -> 0.33 would affect that average quite a bit, considering there was five months between those updates. There have been major content updates that have dropped quicker than 0.35 -> 0.36 many years before. Between April 2015 and December 2016 (so, probably before you were aware of BeamNG.drive, based on your account join date), we used to get updates once every month or two, with new cars, maps, and features. Many of these had been finished for a while, but were waiting on slidenodes (an important component for McPherson struts) to be added to the game. In total, twelve vehicles (around 30% of the current roster) and three maps were added during this time.

    -0.3.8.1 (30 April 2015): Roamer/BX
    -0.4 (29 May 2015): JRI/BeamNG release on Steam
    -0.4.1.1 (7 August 2015): '96 Pessima
    -0.4.2 (18 September 2015): SBR4
    -0.4.3 (31 October 2015): Barstow
    -0.5 (18 December 2015): '88 Pessima
    -0.5.1 (30 December 2015): Burnside
    -0.5.2 (9 February 2016): 800 Series
    -0.5.4 (19 April 2016): Utah/Miramar
    -0.5.6 (4 June 2016): K-Series
    -0.6 (22 July 2016): Trailers/Garage Mode/I-Series
    -0.7 (4 October 2016): ETK DEC/Campaigns
-0.8 (21 December 2016): New Powertrain Physics/LeGran/Time Trials (called Quickplay back then)

I highly doubt we'll ever go back to a time like that - the game's just so much more complex now than it was back then, and the devs don't have a large backstock of models to release in a short time frame, AFAIK. However, considering the next new vehicle isn't planned to be released until at least mid-2026, I wouldn't be surprised if the devs wanted to breeze through the refreshes to get them out of the way (and keep people interested in the game).

That would be an easy way to add a more modern semi to the game without having to model (and maintain) many more frames. I do hope we get a more modern cabover body, as well - although I wouldn't be surprised if the cabover remained a pre-1987 option, considering comparable Big-Three cabover semis (like the Ford C/H-Series and Chevrolet Titan/GMC Astro) ended production in the late-'80s and very early 1990s. However, the Freightliner Argosy (which shared parts with the Century Class conventional) was produced until 2006 in the US, with Australian production continuing until 2020. So, it's not entirely impossible for there to be a new cab (and associated parts).

I don't know if the devs will be touching the T-Series for a while, though - they spent a long time last year working on it.

Probably not - although, we didn't get any new teasers for the Miramar's body styles before its refresh was released. Nor did we get any teasers of the Sunburst's wagon body style before its remaster released. But I think it'd take a fair while longer to do a coupe Bastion on top of everything else in under three months.

Pretty sure the 0.32 -> 0.33 was during the whole Disney thing so you cant use that info.

Honestly, this update's feeling very much like something from 2015/2016. Back in the day, there'd be a new feature (i.e. engine thermals in 0.5.3), significant new vehicle content (usually a new car, but 0.5 gave us the extended-cab and heavy-duty D-Series frames), and new props (like the giant flail in 0.5.2).

Crazy to think how few people were playing the game back then. The peak concurrent player count between May 2015 and December 2016 was on the 26th of December, 2016, with just 2,265 players. This past year, Beam's been averaging 15-25K concurrent players, with a peak of almost 31K four months ago (5 April 2025).

Crazy how the graphics have now stayed the same in 10 versions. This is infact the longest beamng has gone without upgrading the graphics

yeah, its a brake glowing update

but its weird, on the teaser, the brakes are not glowing, per say, it's barely noticeable. looks like somebody painted the disc brake orange, or better yet, it looks like its reflecting the sun

Reddit user "u/pug_userita" replicated the reflection on the disk breakes. While it does look similar, I think there is slight difference. (The one in teaser don't look like they are reflecting like in the replica, could be a sun setting / angle difference tho )

The overall theory does seem to be that the truck flipped and the bastion had to break heavily, but probably not long enough for a full break glow. I 100% think its break glow, as there doesn't seem to be anything else in the image that we currently don't have ingame. And the caption hints at it

But here's a question of his replica: the Bastion isn't at the same place, which may cause different reflection effect

Also in the teaser the glow fades from the middle of the brake disc to the edge, while in the replica the brightness of the glow is the same on each area of the disc

Maybe it's the AO setting - the shadowing under the car and at the front bumper definitely seems heavier.
