so i have just downloaded a volkswagen jetta mod from phaien, and when i went to scan on VirusTotal, it came back with 0/67 detections except for the fact that there was a behavior section in there(im pretty sure a beam ng mod doesn't need to have a behavior tab), and the things it said the mod did were pretty shady. heres the link to the VT scan for anyone who wants to see exactly what i mean. https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file...f0cb4db100fe87dc334285f3661cafc7b7e7/behavior EDIT: after looking at the file a little more in depth, i think it might actually be a virus, since the things it does are pretty suspicious.
The Lua exploit has already been fixed and jbeam files can't install other files to your PC. Unless it's an executable, you should be safe.
i feel like nowadays most online sources for mods are safe except world of mods avoid them at all costs but even midland has people posting from these forums, to stop reuploaders.
i did do a bit of analyzing the file in a vm, since i had my suspicions there was some form of malware, and i was sketched out even more by the fact there is a file in the mod named "thumbs.db", and it is completly obfuscated. besides that one file, everything else seemed safe
