just... wow! I have never seen this many players playing a game in my (almost) eight years of ROBLOX! this is impressive! has this ever happened before?
I'm starting to think that there are more robots on the entire platform than there are actual players
Nowaday's games are all cashgrabs, brainrot shit and simulators. They are all p2w (pay to win) Tho, there are still some great games out there, but most hidden under tons of p2w games. Some good games are Greenville, Block Tales and Nameless. Id also say natural disaster survival but there are more and more exploiters and e daters these days...
I remember when ROBLOX was filled with: games with titles like "Escape (noun) Obby!" tycoons games with titles like "Adopt and Raise a Cute Baby!" those games where you ride a box down a slide to see if you can make it to the end now they're filled with: "Grow a (noun)", "Steal a (noun)", or "Build a (noun)" sometimes, on the thumbnail, it might say: "(verb) OFFLINE" robots who farm everything 99 Nights in the Forest evolution games
Okay those types of games were pretty bad to say the least. They were always filled with online daters, sometimes free models, and some devs even used bait and switch scamming to make these type of games popular (only good thing about them is you could troll there). One example of those devs who make these types of games is Tremity. Tremity made a Roblox game called "Adopt And Raise a Cute Kid" around 2016-2017 and used iirc bait and switch scamming and free models (he also created Auto Rap Battles and Life In Paradise in an alt account of his called Games_Page). What made him famous though was the fact he gave famous Roblox YouTubers and some players admin commands (such as AlbertsStuff aka Flamingo). Tremity got terminated in December 2017 for attempting to bribe Roblox staff members for someone to win in the Bloxy Awards (now it's called the Innovation Awards). He returned to Roblox for quite some time in 2018 with another alt of his called ripTremity0 but it was quickly terminated a couple days later. In 2020, he founded Do Big Studios and made a new account called do_big. I feel like he wanted revenge on Roblox terminated his Tremity account because Do Big has been ruining Roblox games they bought such as A Dusty Trip, Blade Ball, Fisch, and so much more.
what about the other old trends I mentioned? were they at least a little decent? (if you have ever played them)
Those other ones are fine and they're not bad at all tbh (even though some classic tycoons became repetitive at some point)
right now, the top questions I have for ROBLOX are: why did they get rid of the three combat badges in 2015? why did they make the logo go through a major redesign in 2017? why did they get rid of Builders Club in 2019? EDIT: fixed a typo
My theories are: Classic combat was starting to fade away and be replaced by each game having a unique combat system. However I don’t know why they needed to remove the badges’ unlockability. Not sure why they went through a logo change. Probably to try and ditch the “kids game” impression one might get from seeing the game for the first time. I literally have no idea why they got rid of Builders Club for Premium lol
