In my opinion I think paid early access is the paid best way to monetize without being scummy. If people want to support the creator and get something in return then they can get it early. If people like us want it for free then we can wait (except for that Camaro mod, that took it way too far).
The one by baileylsx5. I think the drama started at page 30 which is the one I have linked. Bearing in mind that I actually looked on forum threads since August 2022 and it was a paid beta then, I think it says enough
That's my only gripe with this monetization model: the creator is incentivized to keep it pay-walled for as much as possible. Earnings will most likely drop asymptotically so to make X% more income you'll have to wait a lot more than X% more time. On the other side "consumers" are incentivized to just wait for the free version. Some transparency might help, for example having a target income, something similar to Kickstarter.
An update for today: the exterior parts for the GTX version. The rears are 22x14 as opposed to the square 22x12 setup on the sport version.
Exterior is mostly done, I need to add some badge textures and figure out the combinations of plastic tubs/fairing for the different fender/bumper combinations in the front. Base "luxe" version with 20" wheels and single side exhaust. Also chrome trim around the main bumper grill and doors. Base "sporty" version with staggered 20" wheels and dual exhausts. No chrome trim. Sports version (similar to Q4) with custom staggered 20" wheels and dual exhaust. Sporty front bumper with extra cooling. Extra fins on rear bumper difusser. Small lip spoiler on trunk. The same sports versions but with all the compatible carbon fiber extras applied. 22x12 Civetta Stradale wheels (square setup). GTX version. 22x12 front wheels, 22x14 rear wheels. A lot of custom parts.
Woooow I cant wait for this. --- Post updated --- Will we be able to mod this mod?? (Like add more parts)
Sure, that would be great! As a heads ups, as far as the exterior goes, these screenshots show most of the parts but not all. Only ones missing are a different carbon lower grille for the GTX version and a couple of rear spoilers: one tall one similar to the older 156 GTA or A80 Supra and a "batwing" one like the aftermarket ones you see on modern BMWs. I'll also carry over all Bastion parts that still fit: front splitter with supports, side skirts, rear wings, front and rear bash bars, police lights, etc. I'll keep the original Bastion engines available although the main configs won't use them. Things that I might add later: more over fenders, a shark fin roof antenna. Let me know if I'm missing anything!
Yes, I keep forgetting about that one. It's for the GTX version and I keep forgetting to add it to the config before doing the screenshots.
