Please tell me that I'm not the only one who thinks locking optional extras behind software is wrong. I've seen on the Audi and Mercedes subreddits people defending the fact that production is simpler and cheaper yet we still have to pay for the damn options that are included but locked.
people who defend this are just like the older gen people who say that young lads are lazy because they don't wan't to adhere to modern slavery
It's the internet, half the world is here. I don't think you could possibly be the only one in any category, no matter how specific. I doubt there's only one mixed Inuit/Kenyan Veggie Tales megafan. Trust me, or trust the math: you're not the only one on Earth who hates über corporate late-stage-capitalist bullshit. Sorry, had to be pedantic

Just read about the USS Nevada, and it's pretty sad that a ship that survived WWI and Pearl Harbor, and went on to attack at D-Day and the Battle of Okinawa, was used as a nuclear test ship and then a target ship. Why did the United States hate their historical ships? The Nevada would've made a great museum ship, it didn't deserve to be discarded by a nuke of all things. And, if you look into the Operation Crossroads tests, literally nobody liked them, as they only tested the survivability of the ships, and not the actual sailors.
Interestingly, they tried to "clean up" the radiation from the ships afterward, but they had no procedure to do so. So, they had the sailors go out, without protective gear, and do a simple cleaning of the ships (which did absolutely nothing). All in all, the government gained a few things from the tests: Poisoned some of the natives, and the ones that were removed ended up dying because they couldn't get food Gave lots of sailors radiation sickness and cancer Irradiating the local wildlife Ruining the historic ships that could've been used as museum ships or scrapped Spongebob nuke scenes
