Over the past few days, I have been enjoying the physics and realism behind the suspension in the game. Live axles, multilink, independent, etc.
However, what struck me as interesting is that we don't have a Swing Axle vehicle! Examples that come to mind are things like the early Skoda cars like the 100 and early 742s, and the VW beetle so it tended to be applied on RR layout vehicles. Granted we have the Autobello but it has independent suspension, and I think it would be quite hilarious to experience the infamous "Jacking" of a swing axle where the outer wheel tucks under the car in extreme driving. upload_2025-6-30_22-28-7.jpeg upload_2025-6-30_22-29-23.png

a DeDion axle would also be an interesting inclusion, perhaps on the same car as the facelifted "fixed" version.

The Stambecco has front and rear swing axles if I'm not mistaken, but I do like this idea. An older European rear-engined sedan or something of that nature with swing axles would be very interesting

Yeah but you can't really drive a stambecco fast. Enough or aggressive enough to get the proper effect.

The Stambecco has a camber limiter to stop tucking under in the form of straps.

Also the old VW Buses (anything pre-73') had the Beetle style wheel hubs and swing axles.

I have a very unfinished Karmann Ghia mod that includes a rear swing-axle for the Autobello. The Karmann is unfinished, but the swing axle works fine.
I haven't added a camber-compensator/swaybar option yet, but it behaves in a nice and unpredictable fashion... Especially with twitchy steering inputs.
The mod will also include a MacPherson strut front suspension like the Super Beetles at some point lol (It's almost done, but steering geometry is still too bad to release)

I hope that scratches the itch lol... I do wish there were more unconventional suspension options in the game... I am (at some point ) going to make a standalone
TIB/TTB for the front of the D-Series that features accurate geometry and better tuning, that way I don't need @AR162B 's addon to make old Ford clones.
His mod has some issues with breaking vanilla UVs and is generally a bit outdated... Still a good mod, just old.

revert to 0.14? Respectfully I do not see that as a feasible solution. That's basically time travel :p

I'll check it out for sure! Definitely excited to see if I can have some life-threatening times going too fast around corners.

    Also the old VW Buses
I'm thinking it'd be nice to have a classic T2 VW bus. Like a pre-facelift with the swing axles. AW Kurier, T-wagen..?
