Hello! First time I've been on here in quite some time but I've learned the skill of modding, well sort of but I decided, why not make my favorite bus and add it to the game. This is my first big project, I have high hopes for it. But I want to keep the scale fairly simple for release. As I'm making everything from scratch to get the full experience, even the suspension system. Sure, I'll look at what the wentward does for some stuff but I'll still try and keep it original. Not that there's anything wrong with using the games assets. But the wentwards suspension and handling are nothing like the Citaro. Release will include: - Citaro 1st gen facelift. - Citaro M - Citaro K - Citaro L - Citaro LE The second generation (C2) will probably be added in another update. Same with the first non facelift variant. Now keep in mind that I'm very new to modding, but I understand most concepts of it. I'm also very familiar with making games and software so it's not like it's very hard or anything. I also don't want to rush things at all, I want to go at my own pace. At the time of writing, I have the frame basically complete, just need to fix some collisions. Then I'll build its front suspension
It sounds great! But before someone screams at you for not having images, it's best that you add some ; )
I have added images as requested, I know it isn't much but hey its a start! --- Post updated --- Honestly I'm not sure yet. It would take me alot of work to flip the whole jbeam around and stuff. And because its my first project i want to keep it fairly simple for now. But who knows, might add it in a future update! But don't get your hopes up.
Honestly I'm not sure yet. It would take me alot of work to flip the whole jbeam around and stuff. And because its my first project i want to keep it fairly simple for now. But w Very likely as afaik both the 1997 - 2004 version and the facelift (2006-2011) are very similar in terms of frame. The only real changes are the fascia and the rear. And probably some internal changes.
Just a silly question, have you thought about making the LE Ü too? I feel like that would be a cool thing to have:3
U variants are an afterthought, as they don't differ much from the normal variants. But it would be cool and easy to add in the future for sure!
Good luck! There aren't many non meshslapped buses in BeamNG right now so any new one would be a welcome addition.
This is amazing! Glad to see new bus mods in beamng. Do you think it would ever be possible for you to add hybrid variants of the citaro?
Sorry for the inactivity. Due to irl events and other factors I had little to no motivation to work on the project. But I am back so I'll my best to answer all your questions. My idea was to release a seperate mod, basically a "content pack" including hundreds of spec configurations. So yes the chances of this being included is very high. Can't say yet, motivation comes and goes so we will see. I've seen the capsule do it, updated their system quite recently too so its possible.
Eh I'm not here for payment, I just wanna make a mod. I believe video game mods should be made with a passion, not profit. --- Post updated --- Question: does anyone have like a technical or visual document showing the underside / frame of a citaro? I'd like to have that for recreation of the front / rear axles. I need one as I cannot find anything like it on google images. I can't find any other bus chassis which uses a double wishbone for the front axle. Edit: I have found one --- Post updated --- Reworking the entire frame at this point because the old one wasn't like the actual one
looking good so far! If you need any reference images or so, I work at a bus company, I can get tons of images if needed
